Posted by MacUser That didn't stop Nintendo from going after Vimm.net. And, other websites like it. Though they probably went after these sites for a different reason. |

My pace kinda slowed down a bit lately, due to... well, me being sick, and dealing with hurricanes nearly back-to-back. In fact, I'm still (kinda) dealing with one right now. |

The icons and the logo itself looks pretty dang spiffy, if I must say so myself. It now feels like we have our own identity. Great work. |

Admittedly, I had never been a RHDN member at all. And I've only decided to show up here to show my support after what had gone down with RHDN. |

I tried Fire Emblem Heroes. Played for about 2-ish years, then dropped the game entirely. That game was amassing a large number of problems that either went unfixed or became worse overtime. The worst of them being my favorite characters were getting left behind due to powercreep. Powercreep killed PvP-like modes like Arena, Aether Raids, and Summoner Duels; granted I wasn't the biggest fan of those modes anyway, but the powercreep had gotten so out of control that it bleeded into all of the other gameplay, including main content that I was playing. I had invested into +10 Laevatein before quitting, so I had achieved my main goal anyways.
MarbelSoda perfectly described in words I never could have why I could never stick with this game. The game was flawed from the start, but was broken in such a way that I could never justify playing it. More power to you for keeping up with it, but I just couldn't. |

I just started Star Revenge 7 recently. It's interesting to play a SM64 hack when some of your core mechanics are removed (ie: triple jump and wall jumps) and you have to earn them back. It's almost like playing Metroid Prime 2 but on Super Mario 64.
Not something I'd recommend unless you're very used to Super Mario 64, though. |

Haha, I don't think I'll get 100 anytime soon. Maybe I will eventually, but certainly not soon.
Besides, I like to not force my content and actually post when I actually have something meaningful to say. For me though, this comes up less often because I'm not exactly familiar with a lot of things here. |

Posted by Guysons667 I follow this guy's work. He has some truly masterful stuff on his channel. My personal favorite being FFVIII - Maybe I'm A Lion. As for me, well... It's been a while since I've wanted to listen to Kingdom Hearts music, but that came up quite recently. I specifically searched for an SNES variant, too, and I was pleasantly surprised here. |

I can get by the tiny grid low movement issues if Fire Emblem Heroes was, you know, an actual game, and not a hedgefund operator that looked for every opportunity to sap the player out of their currency. Their Modus Operandi was always simple:
1. Create a problem. 2. Sell the solution. Major emphasis on "sell." You're spending money/currency to fix the problem they made. 3. That solution becomes the new problem. 4. They sell a new solution to said new problem. 5. Rinse repeat. I know someone out there is going to tell me "You play FGO. How is FGO any better?", so I guess I'll address that elephant in the room. Well, FGO doesn't lock a lot of the currency you need behind things that require very high and very heavy investment just to even function in said modes. And while there are some over-centralizing servants, you can get by without them because you can simply just use your friend's servants. And furthermore, FGO is a purely PVE-focused game, so a lot of the problems revolving around needing to do broken PvP content just to get currency you NEED doesn't apply to FGO. Also unrelated, but FGO actively tries to buff old/neglected servants. Even if some of the buffs don't actually help, at least an attempt was made. Intelligent Systems doesn't even try. FEH releases heroes, and forgets about them in a month. Your favorite waifu was released in Year 1 and desperately needs a buff? That's a shame, because they won't get one. She's stuck doing nothing in particular in the later content because IS only cares about new and shiny things. I'd hate to turn my posts into Anti-FEH propaganda, but I have very strong feelings about this game because I expected better from a company that gave us very good games beforehand. My FEH experience was soured so much that I didn't purchase Three Houses, didn't bother with Engage, and turned down my decision to get Fire Emblem Fates, which I was once on the fence on. That's how bad my experience was. |

Posted by Hiryuu There are a few names I do recognize from SMWCentral, so that did kind of help me get my bearings here. NinCollin, imamelia, and LadiesMan217 to name a few. |

To be honest... I don't even know where to begin here.
I don't remember how I managed to find it, but I remember running into Kaizo Mario World through Proton Jon. Back when he actually made content and didn't sell out entirely to Twitch streams I refuse to attend. (But I'll rant about that some other time.) He introduced me to Kaizo Mario World, and I was fascinated at the idea that you could make modifications of Super Mario World, and it also made me wonder what else can be modified exactly like this. This was back in YouTube 2006, so I imagine romhacking was still in its infancy, so this was truly a new world for me to explore. I started with experimenting. I experimented a lot. I've made a few Kaizo Mario World styled levels, which I had since scratched in favor of actual levels, as I was very disgusted with my "work". Said work was moreso just cheap tricks, cheap deaths, and an almost tile-by-tile recreation of Xanaboy 1's Yoshi's Island 4 except it was actually doable because I thought in my infinite wisdom that making fun of someone else's poor work was "funny". I did a lot of questionable stuff during this time of experimentation and it shouldn't be a surprise why I scrapped all of it. In the time since, I've made a Super Mario World hack. It's admittedly not a great hack, and would for sure get slammed in SMWCentral, but I am proud of all that I've done with it despite its many flaws, and I've done what I could with what I had at the time. I've also since dabbled with Fire Emblem romhacking and a small taste of FFVI romhacking, albeit not enough to make dedicated romhacks with those. Nowadays, I've stopped romhacking entirely, and have resigned myself to being a romhack enjoyer though. I've been looking for standard romhacks (non-kaizo) with a Normal --> Slightly Hard difficulty, and playing those type of romhacks have been taking up a majority of my time, but damned if it isn't a fun hobby to have. |

Super Mario RPG romhacking, I feel, has slowly started to come into its own lately. I remember there was a time where in terms of romhacking, there was SMRPG Armageddon and basically just Armageddon. I'm glad there's been more and more romhacks that have since been completed, and I hope there's more to follow.
If this were 10 years ago, I probably would have actually tried to make a romhack of SMRPG with this type of knowledge. Won't stop me from dabbling with this now though, but I probably won't invest enough time into this to make a full fledged romhack. I have very little of that free time as it is. But I look forward to seeing more soon. |

I'm interested to see how far they can go with this. I'm lowkey a huge Panepon guy, having played a lot of Panel de Pon (SNES), Tetris Attack, and Pokemon Puzzle League in my childhood days, so seeing this is certainly refreshing.
Here's to hoping they get around to completing it. |

Posted by AnAxemRanger We might be witnessing one, if not now, then soon. You've just released your romhack recently, and Will just completed Super Luigi RPG Star Powered romhack just recently as well, and that one is a total revelation. I really feel like Super Mario RPG hasn't really had a breakout hack that started a revolution like some of the other hacking scenes, but we might just be witnessing one now. Let's just hope more comes out of this. |

Posted by Shiva Orb count isn't really my issue. It was a problem back when I played, but it wasn't the problem. My problem also isn't the heroes you are given for free. The problem I have is that a lot of the materials that you would need to help boost your heroes is locked behind Arena and Aether Raids (and probably more after I left), and those modes have such a broken scoring system that spiraled out of control due to powercreep, forcing you to have to +10 many of the Mythic Heroes or Legendary Heroes (or at the very minimum +6-7, so either way, a very heavy investment) just so you can get as much of those otherwise-dripfed materials as you you need to boost your heroes. Not only are you at the mercy of RNG for getting extra copies of those Mythics and Legendaries (which can often be very unkind; this is a gacha game we're talking about), but you're doing so for characters that you otherwise might not care enough about to acquire in the first place. One copy would've been fine if that's all you needed, but you need way more than just one copy. It's a heavy investment on a character you otherwise would not have wanted. And this isn't a problem exclusive to Arena or Aether Raids... from what I've seen, a lot of content does this. Posted by Shiva Every here and there, there's a resplendent release, but that comes too few and too far between. The best hope you could have is for a re-armed hero to drop an inherited piece that your favorite hero could use, and that could boost your hero's viability. In my case, that would be Arcane Charmer for my loved and cherished +10 Sakura. Kinda wish they thought of that before I deleted my account. Even still, I'm not sure even that would be enough to fix her 28 Atk and 30 Speed; both stats that won't cut it for most content nowadays. Posted by Shiva That's fair enough, and I'm not gonna discourage you from playing Fire Emblem Heroes. I'm just detailing the experiences I've had. I'm glad you were able to keep up with it and enjoy it for what it is, even amidst its glaring problems. I just wish I was able to do the same. By the way, that aformentioned Sakura was the reason I was going to get Fire Emblem Fates. I probably would have purchased Birthright if that were the case. I'm well aware of the game's... very flawed story-telling, but I can say for sure the characters themselves aren't the reason for said flawed storytelling. |

I guess I might as well add another to the pile.
Speaking of Kingdom Hearts to SNES earlier, I liked the conversion from DS to a Kingdom Hearts style of music. |

To be honest, I don't know what my title would be if I reach 100.
Maybe I'll be boring and just label myself as "Caster Class Servant" with the accompanying gold caster icon, just like on SMWCentral. |

I just finished playing Star Revenge 7 co-op with my friends, and now I'm playing Tetris Attack and Panel de Pon trying to de-rust.
I've completed Tetris Attack's VS Mode on S-Hard difficulty without much issue, but I seem to have serious problems clearing Panel de Pon's VS Mode on S-Hard difficulty without losing, despite that game having technically a much easier AI to work with. I used to clear this without much problem as well, so I guess I'll just chalk this up to a certified "old man has aged to the point where he's lost several steps in his movement" moment. |
