Well, since Romhacking.net has less attention, might as well define RPI here:

"RPI is a system that determines the Replayability factor of video games, it is meant to help players avoid MTX (Microtransactions) and Live Service games like Forza Horizon or Candy Crush.

RPI is called Replayability Index and has a few rules:

1. Creativity boosts the RPI hugely, so games like Chu Chu Rocket or RC Revenge or Marble Master or even Niche have higher RPI values.
2. Challenge also boosts RPI, within reason of course, Kirby and the Amazing Mirror and Pokémon Theta Emerald EX exploits this nicely.
3. Live Services (Which restrict item access to Online only) is a penalty to RPI, and must be avoided, Forzathon is one easy example.
4. MTX also harms RPI because of locking content until you pay up or stalling games till you pay, Candy Crush is a advertised example.
5. Difficulty also affects RPI, if the games Difficulty is where it should be, then RPI is maximized, but too easy or too difficult games in relation to similar games hurts the RPI.
6. Expansions between 33% and 80% the size of the game with an appropriate price can boost RPI, but the company must be willing to do it.
7. DLC that is below 33% that is NOT free hurts RPI a bit, and blatantly hurts it seriously, like Forza typically does.
8. 0 is no Replayability, 25 is one year, 50 is 10 years, 75 is 25 years, 99 is 50-99 years and 100 is 100 years or longer, you can probably guess the years for values between these numbers as it is exponential as the RPI gets closer to 100.

With these rules in mind, I hope everybody uses the RPI system and it replaces the ESRB system in place currently (For suggesting games at least)."

Of course these rules are speculative

One major thing: ESRB will still rate games for audiences, but RPI will help players save money. If you got anything to add, just respond below!

Followed the link from Romhacking.net to here.

I know the gist of this site already: Romhacks. One of my interests.

I play games on Android and I invented the RPI (Replayability Index) system in July of 2023.

I also have a very deep love for Arceus, if you're curious.

Any questions can be discussed below so forth no rules are broken nor does it go NSFW.

I'm playing multiple games: Pokemon Theta Emerald EX (YES! An actual Romhack!) among others like Mahjong Builder, Mindustry Classic & 250+ Solitaire Collection by Alexei Anoshenko. So I have a huge Library of games to discuss about here. Heck, I even use RetroArch as my non-Gameboy Emulator on Android too!

Have you seen https://www.darkpattern.games/? It's not quite the same thing but does specifically try to help people find games that don't have things like microtransactions. I feel like specifically highlighting different aspects and how they apply to the game helps more than just a numerical rating.

Well, the Numerical rating is only intended to determine the Replayability in years, 25 is only 1 year of replayability, but the goal is 100 RPI, which is 100 or more years of replayability.

But you could be right. But then again, replayability is what more romhackers are leaning towards. SHOCKSLAYER and other Pokemon Romhackers tend to improve replayability! Hence RPI being quite necessary for future Romhacks so people can enjoy the games at whatever pace suits them best and get the most of a good game without the aforementioned issues.

Tried it on Android...Boy is it clunky on Androids. Best for the Real console or other consoles via emulation.

But it is an interesting concept.

I read a bunch of different books, ranging from cooking to electronics and even mathematics & science. Especially Calculus and related topics like infinite series.

Anybody else who reads books?

That behavior is quite unacceptable, and could warrant a report itself, it's against the rules to attack other users.

Now...What was I saying earlier...Yeah.
I use a music hosting site to acquire my music.

To avoid the "Peeping Tom" of this site now I'm NOT posting the URL, just in case.

But my favorite would be from SHOCKSLAYER, the Alola Legend 8-Bit music caught my attention real quick.

SuperMash is as close to a Gacha game as I got, it wasn't the best game, but it sure was hilarious messing around with the mashing machine and creating amazing "games" to play. But it did occasionally crash without a logical reason o_O

Manga, kind of like Dragon Ball Z, interesting. I haven't seen much manga apart from Dragon Ball as a whole.

This could be useful for hackers, but right now it's irrelevant to what I must say:

I did a bit of work on Romance of the Three Kingdoms III Genesis on RetroArch and found a couple codes linked to Ruler creation, using it I found out that 100 wasn't the stat cap, instead the limit now is 255. Theoretically it could go higher but 255 is a safe number.

But, is it possible to do the same thing with Custom officers since they get RANDOM stats? Could I break the system and make super, hyper & Ultra officers there? Hard to say, but this should get eyeballs popping out big time. o_o (That smiley is what you could be doing after hearing this, but you might not be, I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't do what the smiley suggested)

UPDATE: 255 is the absolute limit, the stats can't handle 256 or greater, hence an overflow could occur. But 240 is assured safe for Political, 245 for Intellect & War & 255 for Charm, Army & Navy.

UPDATE 2: The Imperial Seal sets Charm to 100, even if the Charm goes above 100, this is a clear oversight that wasn't taken into consideration as it could be more of a penalty to get the seal if charm is too high. This might need fixing in potential hacks.

Still have a copy of Chessmaster XI, in fact. On a 486 at the office that I revived this past year, I have Windows 3.1 on it with a copy of Chessmaster 3000.

Wow! That is older than me! Windows 3.1 was the dawn of classic Windows operating systems, which concluded with ME in 2000.

Chess has a lot of possibilities, even though it's not a video game per se, it does have a high RPI, predicted to be about 70-75 alone. A mighty impressive feat, but the RPI could be much higher. Chess, Checkers & Backgammon are 3 high RPI board games and are all present on Ultimate Brain Games & Board Game Classics on GBA.

I go farther back to 'dawn' of anything Windows-based. I grew up more on MS-DOS, starting around 3.3. I've seen Windows 1.0 and 2.0/286 running on 286 back in the day.

I'm also 40. Take that any way you like.

1.0, I heard of it and saw snippets of it, but I never actually used Windows 1.0, and with technology going the way it is, never will be granted that capability to use 1.0. Mind you I'm only 28.5 at the time this reply was made. :(

That's a nice tidbit of info. That would help ensure everything is translated.

Speaking of Translation. I actually tried directly translating Romance of the Three Kingdoms III for the PS1. Not a fun experience. But it's a good attempt.

Just testing if the YouTube embedding really works. This is a first for me.

Tried a PS1 title once in the past, that bomb defusing game. It's awkward. Worst bit was English support in the save manager was a very tight fit the first time and needs to be duplicated like 20 more times in less space. You would think something like that would just be resident in memory, but that's sort of disk design, isn't it? It's really 20 different isolated programs in a framework.

Yeah, I used a poor man's method, use another version & compare. The video shows me comparing the PS1 edition of Romance of the Three Kingdoms III to the Genesis edition. There are clear similarities in the menus.

Unfortunately as you did suggest. A true translation is very difficult to achieve. Impossible on an Android like my Summit 5G as there are no tools to do it with, just a patcher and that's it.
