Back way before Mario Maker 1 released, in the early 2010's I learned that people were making NSMBW custom levels from youtube videos showcasing those short hacks like Newer Summer Sun and I thought it was really neat. I don't really know if Wii era hacking is considered "romhacking" but NSMBW and Mario Kart Wii were the games that introduced me to game modding, as well as playing custom tracks for the older mario kart games like double dash and mario kart DS. it was really exciting when double dash custom tracks took off relatively recently.
later and unrelated to mario, I learned of GBA Fire Emblem fangames and stuff like The Last Promise is incredibly cool, I have tried to make my own little fire emblem mods, but I usually get super sidetracked and never finish anything... as well as fangames I also learned about fire emblem randomizer mods which is a really fun way to play a game in a totally different way |

Fire Emblem Heroes is the only one I have bothered keeping up with. Attempted playing touhou lost word in the past as well as grand summoners, just ended up always forgetting about them within a week
actually right as I posted this I remembered that one gacha game I loved, Angry Birds Fight. it's too bad they cut off the servers and took it off the app store like, 8 years ago... |

New Theory of Thracia 776 is a must for any SNES Fire Emblem fan. i'm shocked something like it even exists, people used to not want to touch this game with a 10 foot pole. a complete translation of the base game took until 2019 to get done! |

Posted by Hiryuu IVs are a million times more manageable now due to stuff like trait fruits and ascended florets tbh and honestly I don't think they're terribly essential for new units pulled anyway. IVs are a very 2017/2018 issue. Posted by Galeforce maybe I should try out FGO again, but I've never actually watched/played anything Fate related, but then again, I didn't touch anything Fire Emblem related before playing Heroes in 2017... on the topic of FEH currency, there isn't really an orb drought like in the 2019 era. there's a lot of orbs you can get these days, especially since a billion or so chapters have released since the last time you played, and stamina is barely even a finite resource anymore (although, I think the barrier for entry with stamina is a bit higher with new players, but the game will give you so much stamina bottles that it's really you can just go get orbs until you get bored or something) and on the topic of heavy investment, the game gives you.... 8? or so great 5 star units for completing chapter 1 of each respective book and tbh with that and whatever free brave unit is available at the time, you can steamroll everything that isn't lunatic mode (and lunatic mode is doable, even cheesable sometimes, just not always easy) powercreep is annoying, and the way the numbers have gone up is annoying, but the game is honestly outright generous with resources in the year 2024, and has been for a while tbqh Posted by Galeforce FEH does this too, idk the last time you played but legendary seliph, who was once straight up the worst legendary hero, was given a buff that made him one of the best tanks in the game. Gen 1 kind of got screwed yes but every new unit that's come out in the past 5 or so years has been able to stay viable tbh. even the gen 2 Lewyn I run is still very good, because his buff was excellent. Posted by Galeforce the thing about Heroes that you have to buy in to is the collector aspect of it, idk, maybe the game is pretty bad... i don't think it's terrible but I guess I don't have defenses for a lot of it's problems, like powercreep, and gen 1 being screwed, but I think it being pretty bad for fire emblem is still more interesting gameplay than I've ever gotten out of another gacha game. and off topic to the thread's topic, not buying fates is a major missed opportunity, that game is really fun and most FE players will tell you Conquest is one of the best games (gameplay wise - story is a whole nother issue) |

Super Collapse 3 puzzle mode. On level 88, which I don't think I've ever reached before. I think I remember as a kid only getting to level 40~ or so. Puzzle is definitely my favorite mode in this game, slider is pretty manageable too but I get stressed out when classic/relapse/strategy add in a 4th (and 5th or 6th) color block. |

very cool that there are tutorials for this, I had a cursory interest in SMRPG rom hacking 7-8 years ago but then never really looked quite into it, and honestly probably won't soon (due to other things I am fascinated with right now) but if that game ever peaks my interest again I can imagine I'd tinker with it a bit. and I hope the community grows! |

When selected, the OG daily cycle theme breaks the entire page layout and turns the board to a white background and times new roman font. Since Daily Cycle 2 exists for AB2 I recommend just removing it from the list. Unless this only a me error, but I don't *think* it is? |

Been watching MLB playoffs. Cleveland vs the Yankees ALCS has been great. Mets and Dodgers NLCS, not so much |
