I haven't properly introduced myself.

Name is Raymond Allen Francis, but I go under the Name ArceusI to be simplified and also more literal to my love of Arceus.

I'm on many sites, including one in my signature (Khinsider), and my YouTube account is Raymond Francis (My official name) and I'm actually doing a walkthrough of Dynasty Warriors Volume 1 so everyone knows I'm a gamer too. But I do need a controller to play that game at it's fullest.

Apart from my extreme intelligence (And my Autism) I'm generally easy to get along. I do discover things and post them when I can prove them.

I hope after this proper introduction I can be more of a help to this site and for gaming in general.

Yuku is down, and due to that DraStic is gone too after going free.

I ain't affected as I use RetroArch and John GBA/GBC Lite with Adguard protection.

But dang does Nintendo know what they're up do guys? This isn't a war Nintendo will win, they're losing popularity as they continue doing this. Hence their influence is waning. You don't just plum attack preservation, you embrace it and keep it going.

Yes, this post is related to Gaming, and it makes sense to post it here. Unlike the one in General (Which should be moved to this forum just in case), this is more up to date with info. Anybody can add to this if they want to.

I'm not sure what's going on with DraStic, given that it seemed to play things really safe (using homebrew games for its store screenshots, not supporting encryption, using its own clean BIOS implementation, etc.) but I don't think it's a sign that (most?) emulators are in danger. At least in the United States I think if people aren't infringing copyright, trademark, or patents, then the only applicable thing remaining is DMCA's anti-circumvention rules, which doesn't apply to consoles that don't use encryption.

Well, it is concerning if DraStic disappeared from the Google Play Store. Others could follow suit.

To be honest, I think the far bigger danger is the patents that Nintendo is trying to enforce. IMO, they are starting to repeat the same mistakes that they saved us from back in the 1980s. But that's a topic for another time.

But on the topic of Yuzu, I have no sympathy for Yuzu, by the way. They earned their grave with what they did before they shut down their operations.

Yeah, Yuzu wasn't that good of a Switch Emulator.

But after Yuzu fell, DraStic became free, then DraStic was taken down by Google. It's absolute chaos in the Emulation world if this keeps up.

Well, until more information surfaces on DraStic, I can't really comment on it other than, "oh, well that's not good", but yeah, Yuzu committed a cardinal sin when it came to emulation, and that's trying to profit off of licensed products that don't belong to them.

That's how Nintendo took Yuzu down. But the news is still reeling over DraStic's removal from app stores. As time passes, we'll see what happens with other emulators.

But wasn't DraStic's dev very open about plans to remove it from the stores?

Iirc, the story started when the google store removed it for a short time due to some bookkeeping reason (a bad description or something), then it was fixed. At that time though DraStic's dev said they have plans to eventually go free, then after about a year of being a free app (likely as long as needed so they don't require giving refunds) they planned on deleting it from the stores entirely.

It has been some time though, maybe things changed along the way.

Interesting. Never knew that side of the DraStic story.

Unfortunately the game became unstable due to the breakthrough, exceeding 100 in stats has a lot of unintended Side-Effects, like Custom Officers disappearing, Kin Relations freaking out, stats becoming ---, and even Civil duties swiping all your money! I wouldn't recommend using the breakthrough unless these glitches are resolved in such a way that the game will be stable again.

Here is what I mean:

For the first time, I have played Romance of the Three Kingdoms VII & X on the PS2, considering how far I've come to try and Breakthrough on these games, I have hit an unusual snag: RetroArch Android doesn't support PS2 Emulation, having to use NetherSX2 as a substitute...How in the world do I find the codes which affect Custom Officer Stats when that feature of searching doesn't exist? I really wonder about this...Plus the RISK OF CORRUPTION is apparent on such complex games. x_x

If anybody can discover the codes that pertain to the editing of Custom Officer Stats in these games, let me know immediately so I can hopefully patch them in and safely attempt a Breakthrough!

It's finally time...Somebody on Downloads.Khinsider recommended that I go through with my new concept console: The Arceus 2600 (I know, a HUGE reference to the Atari 2600 released over 50 years ago), this all new console will be in a whole new class of consoles called Neo-Gaming, with a huge focus on Retro Preservation and ROMhacks.

So what are the possible things about this console? Well, the price tag is quite steep: $900-1200, and that's because it's a PC AND a console at the same time, just like Android and iPhones, plus it could replace phones too by adding phone features as well. To literally unify the industries like that is a feat everybody would try to accomplish, but nobody was successful yet.

Now, game pricing: Retro games are split into 3 qualities: Low-End, Middle & High-End. The prices of these groups are as follows: Low-End is from $0.99-19.99, Middle is from $19.99-39.99 & High-End (Which includes Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart World) which is $39.99-59.99. As for exclusives, the prices go higher still, from $29.99 all the way up to $99.99 (Which is even more expensive than Mario Kart World! Which only currently is $79.99!) but the price depends on RPI to help ensure that players get the most from their money.

There's only one game currently planned to be exclusively on the Arceus 2600: Ultimate Racing, which features over 200 tracks, over 200 characters (Which can be leveled up), multiple game modes, over 2500 vehicles, and even an extensive vehicle upgrade and customization feature for players to max out their vehicles while setting them apart from the competition. Which will obviously sell for $99.99 due to all this expected content, which will also make the game very large as well, sacrificing graphics for extra gameplay content, possibly pushing 200GB in size.

The Arceus 2600 is not built with graphics in mind (We already know that games now may look pretty, but it comes at a serious cost in overall content), instead focusing on raw power to help make playing games a lot easier. Another fantastic feature of the Arceus 2600 and it's possible successors (The Arceus 5200 and Arceus 7800 and so on) is the Retro Expansion, any Retro games on the device will, over the course of time, expand in overall content, going from regular to DX, then from DX to + (Plus), then to DX+, then finally to Ultimate, and over long expanses of time, becoming Infinity. All without affecting the price tag!

The Arceus 2600 has other fantastic features too: It's own built-in Anti-Virus and it's own built-in Ad-Blocker which forcibly blocks all ads, even YouTube ads and will recognize attempts to shut it down. Plus it has the ability to watch Videos, create Art (It may actually come with Pixel Studio, without the requirement to pay for extra features because the Arceus 2600 will detest unnecessary purchases), and even play your own music while you're playing any games! Plus it doesn't use Passkeys, in fact, it uses Passwords, but it has a built in security system, if it's on the console, it's monitored for activity, if the Arceus 2600 detects unauthorized activity on your accounts (That is, it detects activity from a device it doesn't recognize), it will target the source of the crime and alert the authorities immediately and tell the company where the account resides to roll-back any damage to the account to ensure the account information is correct. The reason for no Passkeys? Passkeys are more unreliable, and Biometrics are very faulty, the Arceus 2600 will eliminate any attempts to bring Passkeys to the forefront. It will still have the ability to use PIN for security just in case, but there will be no requirements for ID usage either, because people are trying to be as secure with their private information as possible. The Arceus 2600 prioritizes Safety and Privacy, and won't allow private information to leak.

The Arceus 2600 will also feature a tiered Subscription system, the higher the Subscription, the more sales and free games you can acquire, and the games are permanently yours if you redeem them, even if the Subscription lapses, there's even a really expensive Lifetime Subscription service which means you'll always get sales and free games for as long as the account remains. Plus it allows account successions, the ability to pass the account on to a successor to take over the account, that way they won't have to make a whole new account. Another feature: The Arceus 2600's online play isn't blocked behind the Subscription paywall, since it would be unfair to force players to pay up to play with their friends.

As you guys can see, the Arceus 2600 is a console that will stop the status quo, no more Passkeys, no more advertising, the end of malware, and also the termination of Subscription Services too, by forcibly allowing all content to be viewed for free on the Internet, even if it's behind a stubborn paywall. It basically will shove Subscriptions to the side and literally allow the full freedom of people to explore the Internet without any more restrictions except the Mature Content filters if they are under 18.

This proves the Arceus 2600 is the future of gaming, with a huge HDD/SSD and peripheral drives to store all your content and keep it organized, it will replace all the devices you have, and have everything needed to play every single game in existence! All in one convenient device.

This is also a literal poll, so you can make your decision whether or not the Arceus 2600 should proceed or be held off for a bit longer, or if it's questionable due to the instability of the gaming industry at the moment.

This project is vitally important to me.

Retro Expansion will finally realize a long neglected ambition of expanding the aquariums of Sega Fish Life beyond their glass confines, into local waterways, eventually out into the wide oceans of the world. Finally, the world is ready.

I see, well, that is one of the main goals of the Arceus 2600, to help preserve all Retro Games from various consoles, from Nintendo, SEGA, Sony & Microsoft, plus the oldest consoles too like from Atari and it's competitors like the creators of the Intellivision. So that already is over 20,000 games!

But in all honesty, what is this Sega Fish Life thing? I never really heard of it...

This is the dream, of course. An RCA Studio II with eight or more patterns! A bright future where an "english" knob can finally be applied to any type of ball game! With limitless power will anyone even be able to tell the difference between a Magnavox Odyssey and Fairchild Channel F anymore?

Sega Fish Life is the most rewarding of experiences. It's a variant of Dreamcast hardware designed for hotels, offices, theme parks, restaurants, etc. with both a touch-enabled interface and voice controls. Speak, and they will listen! Create life itself with your own hands!

Hmm... Implementing that to the Arceus 2600 seems really tricky, I know AI might be included for art and chatting capabilities, but doing that might be a bit of a stretch...

If a 70's AI like Jet Jaguar could reprogram itself to be bigger, clearly modern AI is more than capable of reprogramming itself for any interface you would ever need. Even if it already didn't support every console ever made, given enough time AI would quietly add all that support simply to fill the vacuum caused by its nonexistence. That's why it's not necessary for tech companies to explain how or why they're using AI; it's guaranteed it will automatically determine what it's needed for and create that before being prompted. To confine it by something as strict as words and meaning limits its fundamental capabilities.

Hmm...Good point there, AI could help close the gaps in Retro Preservation, allowing all games to be played on the Arceus 2600 (Within the consoles limitations).

Why stop at games that exist?
Generative AI has the capability of creating the games that were never finished/released all on its own! While EA's CEO may be perfectly content with half the world's population using AI tools to create their content for them, imagine if those same tools are fed all the design documents, magazine clippings, bar room napkins, and high-definition scans of toilet stall graffiti related to unreleased and cancelled retro titles. Finally! A future where Mire Mare exists! The 2600 will finally have Care Bears and Anteater! No more borrowing a friend's Commodore 64--though that isn't a problem for the Arceus 2600, is it?

The Commodore 64 is a low-end console, far weaker than even a 6th Gen console like the PlayStation 2, so the Arceus 2600 will have no trouble with that one.

Interesting concept, there is indeed a bunch of unreleased prototype games, but finishing those games can have really unexpected results, it'll take AI and Human input to get them to work as intended so we need the actual blueprints for the games that are still prototypes to have all the essential information we need to complete them.

The Skills in Romance of the Three Kingdoms X have important roles in progression. Without certain skills doing things could be way more difficult.

Here is a complete list of skills and all known effects of them:
Politics: Uses Politics for Learning or Instructing
Farm: Allows you to do Farming for up to 50 days at a time, affects CPU work when given this task and they have the skill. Pretty useful for gaining Fame, do 30 days with 100 gold to get an easy 6 Fame when not given the task or as a Free officer.
Trade: Allows you to do Trading for up to 50 days at a time, affects CPU work when given this task and they have the skill. Pretty useful for gaining Fame, do 30 days with 100 gold to get an easy 6 Fame when not given the task or as a Free officer.
Tech: Allows you to do Technology for up to 50 days at a time, affects CPU work when given this task and they have the skill. Pretty useful for gaining Fame, do 30 days with 100 gold to get an easy 6 Fame when not given the task or as a Free officer.
Repair: Allows you to do Repairing for up to 50 days at a time, affects CPU work when given this task and they have the skill. Pretty useful for gaining Fame, do 30 days with 100 gold to get an easy 6 Fame when not given the task or as a Free officer.
Order: Allows you to do Patrolling for up to 50 days at a time, affects CPU work when given this task and they have the skill. Pretty useful for gaining Fame, do 30 days with 100 gold to get an easy 6 Fame when not given the task or as a Free officer.
Hire: When you Hire/Recruit/Establish, troops have higher starting Experience & Morale. Not the best, but it can reduce the penalty for recruiting new troops to trained units. Starting a unit also immediately gets the benefits, so Establish when you have this skill!
Drill: Increases gains from Drilling, even allows Experience & Morale to exceed 100 when Drilling. Very handy! It's always nice to have a slight edge when fighting, extra Experience & Morale boosts overall unit performance.

Duel: Uses War for Learning or Instructing
Recover: Uses some Musou to gain Health. Useful in a pinch situation, otherwise not ideal.
Shout: Gains Musou when used. Decent.
Scare: You gain Musou and deplete your enemies Musou. Pretty handy to shut off any special moves your opponent plans.
Parry: Negates Special Attack maneuvers and hits the enemy for some damage. Quite handy, but Counter is better.
Counter: Negates Special Attack maneuvers and hits the enemy for heavy damage. This is quite essential for difficult duels, but cannot be randomized onto Custom Officers.
Crush: Inflicts moderate damage to your opponent. Maul is better.
Maul: Inflicts heavy damage to your opponent. Combine this with Counter for an unbeatable officer.

Debate: Uses Charm for Learning or Instructing
Awe: When placed on the board, pushes opponent back a little each turn. Good clutch tool when Incited or Taunted, but not ideal.
Plead: Grants immunity from Fault/Argue/Incite/Taunt when in your selection tray. Use to remove Pleads and Refutes from your opponent. 3rd best Debate skill, leads to Refute, which is superior. Tip: If the blocked attack broke your numbered command, it allows it to be placed onto the board as normal.
Refute: Grants immunity from Fault/Argue/Incite/Taunt when in your selection tray and bounces back the effect onto the opponent. Use to remove Pleads and Refutes from your opponent. A close 2nd for best Debate skill, allows you to bounce back Taunts if you're trying to learn Taunt from Zuo Ci or Mi Heng for example. Tip: If the bounced back attack broke your numbered command, it allows it to be placed onto the board as normal.
Fault: Pushes back the opponent a good bit, bested by Argue/Incite/Taunt, worthless when opponent has Plead/Refute or another Fault if they decide to use Fault on the same turn as yours. It's fine, but opt for better skills.
Argue: Pushes back the opponent significantly, bests Faults and breaks regular commands and Awe/Focus, bested by Incite/Taunt, worthless when opponent has Plead/Refute or another Argue if they decide to use Argue on the same turn as yours. Better, but still look for better options.
Incite: Disables opponents actions for 2 turns but does no damage, bests Faults/Argues and breaks regular commands and Awe/Focus, bested by Taunt, worthless when opponent has Plead/Refute or another Incite if they decide to use Incite on the same turn as yours. This is the best Attack command that Custom Officers can get randomly, Taunts are better.
Taunt: Disables opponents actions for 2 turns AND pushes them back significantly, bests Faults/Argues/Incites and breaks regular commands and Awe/Focus, worthless when opponent has Plead/Refute or another Taunt if they decide to use Taunt on the same turn as yours (Good luck getting THAT to happen). Hands down the best (And hardest to learn) Debate skill, but made worthless by Refutes. Cannot be randomized onto Custom Officers.

Renown: Special learning conditions, cannot be Instructed
Warlord: Permits destroying Gates, Agitating the People of cities, spreading Rumors without the need for the task. Allows you to command other units and allows more tactical freedom. CPU officers with this skill advise you if you are a Prefect/Viceroy/Sovereign. Auto-learned when you have 70+ Intelligence and 700 Tactical experience. Almost essential, especially when preparing to attack an opposing city.
Hero: Permits Persuasion when going up against random thugs or guards, makes it possible to persuade a city as a Rogue Army commander rather than attack the city and also allows you to attempt to employ officers without getting the aforementioned task as an Officer (Rulers/Prefects/Viceroys can Employ regardless). As a Free Officer, once you pay to Establish a Private Unit, you do not have to pay it whatsoever when you have this skill. Learnable at 700 fame by talking to Qiao Xuan or Xu Shao or just randomly get it when creating a Custom Officer. Essential, you can never go wrong with this skill!
Admiral: Prevents currents from sweeping your unit away during battle plus boosts Naval units capabilities when you control them (Boosts Attack/Defense and Doubles Mobility). Meh, it's useful I guess. Auto-learned at 500 Naval experience. Cannot be randomized onto Custom Officers.
Spy: Plants spies in the city when you spy it, allowing you to maintain information longer until it's discovered. Auto-learned at 700 Inspect experience. Can't go wrong with getting information about enemy cities!
Host: Permits Banquets which boosts friendship with many officers if they opt to join in, also raises Fame. Auto-learned at 200 Drinking experience. Throw-away skill, not useful, but the easiest to learn.
Doctor: Healing is hastened, allows you to heal others illnesses or wounds, also permits healing units in battles. Learnable after getting 400 experience in the following: Farming, Trading, Technology then talking to Hua Tuo. Nobody knows this initially, so having this is quite handy. Cannot be randomized onto Custom Officers.
Wizard: Allows you to bypass guards by baffling them, if you know Aero you can summon Lightning if the conditions are right. An item yields this alongside being learnable at 500 Wizardry experience and talking to Zuo Ci or Yu Ji or extremely rarely getting it as a random skill on a Custom Officer.

Leader Abilities: Uses Leadership for Learning or Instructing
Charge: Allows Charging in battles. Not good, and best with Horse units. Can push enemies back a square, has the possibility of confusing them if the opponents Intelligence is low enough, may trigger a Duel (But extremely unlikely unless chances are boosted from Tactics).
Missile: If using Bow units, permits the firing of Fire Arrows, which have a chance of setting the opponent on fire in battles. This is a very handy skill to have! Definitely gun for this skill OR instruct an Officer to pass it on if you already have it.
Unison: Allows you to do Unison, which makes allied units bordering the opponent unit attack the unit you're fighting, with no damage on the allied units. A great skill, pass it on with Instruct if you have it or gun for it if you don't have it.
Settle: Hastens settling when using Settle on an allied confused/enticed unit, in Campaigns it uses "Calm" to do the same thing. A lot of officers have this, but hardly useful, niche situations.
Surprise: Allows you to perform Ambushes on opposing units in inclement weather conditions like Fog, in Campaigns it allows "Raid" which does the same thing. 20 battle victories for this!? What a waste of a good skill, not ideal, but many officers know it already.
Rally: Allows you to Rally your troops and raise the units capabilities, in Campaigns it allows "Encourage" which does the same thing. Easy to learn, only 10 battles need to be entered to learn this, plus it's quite helpful, so Instruct whenever you have this!
Distract: Allows Sneaking during battle, ignoring border rules entirely, in Campaigns it allows "Distract" which has an unknown effect. Not particularly useful, but Sneaking could be handy in niche situations, but 10 battle wins seems a bit steep don't you think?

Tactical Abilities: Uses Intelligence for Learning or Instructing
Blunder: Allows you to trick two adjacent Enemy units into fighting each other in battles which causes damage to both enemy units. A great and cheap tactic to learn, only needing 200 tactical experience, does wonders in Defensive battles as it can be cheesed against very dumb officers with amazing results!
Stun: Allows scaring of an enemy unit in battles which slows them down a little and cuts Morale, In Campaigns it allows "Stun" which does the same thing. CPUs abuse this skill if they have it. But in all honesty it isn't particularly helpful, use Blunders or Enticing for better results.
Entice: Allows you to Agitate an enemy unit towards you, increasing the chance and effect of Confuse on that unit and dramatically raises the chance of Duels being accepted, In Campaigns it allows "Lure" which is the same thing but with a reduced chance of success. If you have high Intelligence & War, this skill will make your day much better in battles as this can be cheesed for easy Duels and Confusion! Try Instructing this & Confuse to officers if you have both of them. 400 experience is a bit steep, but worth it!
Confuse: Allows you to confuse an enemy unit, which renders then incapable of doing anything for a few turns, raises the likelihood of Duels if successful, in Campaigns it allows "Discourage" which is almost the same but has a very low chance of even working. If you have Entice somewhere, this is much better to use, but not essential, it takes high Intelligence for this to succeed against a low Intelligence opponent. 500 tactical experience is steep though...
Aero: Allows manipulation of Weather and Wind, if you have Wizard, you can also perform Lightning. If you need Wizardry experience or want to move fires in a specific direction this is fairly useful. For an easy cheese, set the weather to Fog, slide a Ram up to a Gate and bash it down, or use it to set fires by keeping the Weather sunny and shifting the Wind in a favorable direction. Easily can be abused, but it's REALLY steep at 600 tactical experience plus 400 technological experience.
Geo: Allows you to perform Geomancy by making Pits & pushing Boulders down hills & mountains, is the only tactical ability with an effect outside of battle: Reveals the location of a request goal if one is present. Hands down one of the best skills in the game! Unfortunately it's steep, at 600 tactical experience and 400 inspection experience, good luck learning this one as Custom Officers can't get this one randomly.
Maze: Allows you to construct a Maze at bases instead of Forts/Camps and baffles opponents that run into them, can also be used in Campaigns with the same effects. For the steep experience cost, it's impractical, just use Forts or Camps instead unless you really are desperate.

There is quite a bit of information here, but I hope it helps out anybody who plays this game, usually requirements are listed in game, but some aren't as clear cut, so those are given when necessary.

Watching YouTube videos through NewPipe, I bet everyone already knows about Google's harsh age verification systems getting implemented, plus many obviously hate it and want it undone to help preserve freedom.

There's age verification on y*utube now? Somehow missed that... When was it implemented?

Maybe haven't tripped it thanks to exclusively slurping up bizarre Japanese media and 25 yr. old recordings of live events.

...also, this is practically our own board at this point

YouTube's AI Age Verification will launch August 13th 2025. Backlash against it is HUGE so clearly something has basically gone horribly wrong.

UPDATE: In the light of new sweeping changes to YouTube and the UK Online Safety Act, the Arceus 2600 will need to have new measures to ensure privacy.

1st: You will never have to give any sensitive information. IDs and Credit Cards are easily hackable and of course can lead to harassment and other serious situations if they were ever leaked due to hackers. The Arceus 2600 will stay steadfast with just Birthdate verification since multiple people share birthdates it's not too dangerous. But some services may require special bypasses in order to allow Arceus 2600 users to utilize it fully, like YouTube Intermediate & Advanced features being gated behind unreasonable walls, the Arceus 2600 will not tolerate giving information or making users stay active to maintain privileges like those. This the Arceus 2600 either will develop bypasses so users have full access, or if it's not possible the Arceus 2600 won't even allow the service to be used at all till the company complies with the Arceus 2600's regulations, governments may also impact it too, the console won't be released in that country if no bypasses can be utilized to maintain freedom.

2nd: Alternatives may exist. The Arceus 2600 may allow the development of proper alternatives if the main services are not usable. So if YouTube cannot be used, somebody could opt to develop a YouTube alternative and it will become available once it's greenlit on the console. This will allow disconnecting with companies that are hegemonic when it comes to stealing precious sensitive information. Plus it's much safer generally since the Arceus 2600's developers will ensure that nothing malicious is present in any of the alternatives.

The answer is obvious: download to physical media from satellites. You could even do it on a rotating schedule. (Not that any major game publisher ever did that before or anything...) File any goverments' protests to the inky black void.

Tim Curry said it best:

(heh, we both became Gators, neat)

True, we have to ensure privacy first, and maintain the golden rule of the Internet: NEVER GIVE SENSITIVE INFORMATION!

It's really surprising that Companies nor Governments care about privacy, heck, Google was hacked not too long ago, that would raise even more concerns.

To be fair most of the data the companies want to get is what the governments issued to you.

And that violates privacy, since it's technically given to you, you're supposed to guard it with your life. Since if you lose it, game over! You're essentially a ragdoll to the world then as everybody exploits the leaked ID.

That means it's time to game the system!

They want to steal my identity fine, but no takebacks! That's right, I'll land them with an identity so laden with financial, legal, and humanitarian problems they can't dump it fast enough...but can they dump it at all!? Anonymous tips keep attracting attention to their appropriated misdeeds, meanwhile I'm burning every bridge that might to tie it back to myself. Guess they shouldn't have done so convincing of a job pretending they're me.

Well, doing something like that is possible...But the fees to do all of that are monstrous! Not practical nor money-efficient.
