Main - Gaming - The Arceus 2600: The potential future of gaming? (1)

Do you guys think the Arceus 2600 is a good idea (Considering the current information & situation)?
I'd stay out of this gaming mess & wait.
Go for it! Find somebody to make it!
It seems questionable...For now...

It's finally time...Somebody on Downloads.Khinsider recommended that I go through with my new concept console: The Arceus 2600 (I know, a HUGE reference to the Atari 2600 released over 50 years ago), this all new console will be in a whole new class of consoles called Neo-Gaming, with a huge focus on Retro Preservation and ROMhacks.

So what are the possible things about this console? Well, the price tag is quite steep: $900-1200, and that's because it's a PC AND a console at the same time, just like Android and iPhones, plus it could replace phones too by adding phone features as well. To literally unify the industries like that is a feat everybody would try to accomplish, but nobody was successful yet.

Now, game pricing: Retro games are split into 3 qualities: Low-End, Middle & High-End. The prices of these groups are as follows: Low-End is from $0.99-19.99, Middle is from $19.99-39.99 & High-End (Which includes Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart World) which is $39.99-59.99. As for exclusives, the prices go higher still, from $29.99 all the way up to $99.99 (Which is even more expensive than Mario Kart World! Which only currently is $79.99!) but the price depends on RPI to help ensure that players get the most from their money.

There's only one game currently planned to be exclusively on the Arceus 2600: Ultimate Racing, which features over 200 tracks, over 200 characters (Which can be leveled up), multiple game modes, over 2500 vehicles, and even an extensive vehicle upgrade and customization feature for players to max out their vehicles while setting them apart from the competition. Which will obviously sell for $99.99 due to all this expected content, which will also make the game very large as well, sacrificing graphics for extra gameplay content, possibly pushing 200GB in size.

The Arceus 2600 is not built with graphics in mind (We already know that games now may look pretty, but it comes at a serious cost in overall content), instead focusing on raw power to help make playing games a lot easier. Another fantastic feature of the Arceus 2600 and it's possible successors (The Arceus 5200 and Arceus 7800 and so on) is the Retro Expansion, any Retro games on the device will, over the course of time, expand in overall content, going from regular to DX, then from DX to + (Plus), then to DX+, then finally to Ultimate, and over long expanses of time, becoming Infinity. All without affecting the price tag!

The Arceus 2600 has other fantastic features too: It's own built-in Anti-Virus and it's own built-in Ad-Blocker which forcibly blocks all ads, even YouTube ads and will recognize attempts to shut it down. Plus it has the ability to watch Videos, create Art (It may actually come with Pixel Studio, without the requirement to pay for extra features because the Arceus 2600 will detest unnecessary purchases), and even play your own music while you're playing any games! Plus it doesn't use Passkeys, in fact, it uses Passwords, but it has a built in security system, if it's on the console, it's monitored for activity, if the Arceus 2600 detects unauthorized activity on your accounts (That is, it detects activity from a device it doesn't recognize), it will target the source of the crime and alert the authorities immediately and tell the company where the account resides to roll-back any damage to the account to ensure the account information is correct. The reason for no Passkeys? Passkeys are more unreliable, and Biometrics are very faulty, the Arceus 2600 will eliminate any attempts to bring Passkeys to the forefront. It will still have the ability to use PIN for security just in case, but there will be no requirements for ID usage either, because people are trying to be as secure with their private information as possible. The Arceus 2600 prioritizes Safety and Privacy, and won't allow private information to leak.

The Arceus 2600 will also feature a tiered Subscription system, the higher the Subscription, the more sales and free games you can acquire, and the games are permanently yours if you redeem them, even if the Subscription lapses, there's even a really expensive Lifetime Subscription service which means you'll always get sales and free games for as long as the account remains. Plus it allows account successions, the ability to pass the account on to a successor to take over the account, that way they won't have to make a whole new account. Another feature: The Arceus 2600's online play isn't blocked behind the Subscription paywall, since it would be unfair to force players to pay up to play with their friends.

As you guys can see, the Arceus 2600 is a console that will stop the status quo, no more Passkeys, no more advertising, the end of malware, and also the termination of Subscription Services too, by forcibly allowing all content to be viewed for free on the Internet, even if it's behind a stubborn paywall. It basically will shove Subscriptions to the side and literally allow the full freedom of people to explore the Internet without any more restrictions except the Mature Content filters if they are under 18.

This proves the Arceus 2600 is the future of gaming, with a huge HDD/SSD and peripheral drives to store all your content and keep it organized, it will replace all the devices you have, and have everything needed to play every single game in existence! All in one convenient device.

This is also a literal poll, so you can make your decision whether or not the Arceus 2600 should proceed or be held off for a bit longer, or if it's questionable due to the instability of the gaming industry at the moment.

This project is vitally important to me.

Retro Expansion will finally realize a long neglected ambition of expanding the aquariums of Sega Fish Life beyond their glass confines, into local waterways, eventually out into the wide oceans of the world. Finally, the world is ready.

I see, well, that is one of the main goals of the Arceus 2600, to help preserve all Retro Games from various consoles, from Nintendo, SEGA, Sony & Microsoft, plus the oldest consoles too like from Atari and it's competitors like the creators of the Intellivision. So that already is over 20,000 games!

But in all honesty, what is this Sega Fish Life thing? I never really heard of it...

This is the dream, of course. An RCA Studio II with eight or more patterns! A bright future where an "english" knob can finally be applied to any type of ball game! With limitless power will anyone even be able to tell the difference between a Magnavox Odyssey and Fairchild Channel F anymore?

Sega Fish Life is the most rewarding of experiences. It's a variant of Dreamcast hardware designed for hotels, offices, theme parks, restaurants, etc. with both a touch-enabled interface and voice controls. Speak, and they will listen! Create life itself with your own hands!

Hmm... Implementing that to the Arceus 2600 seems really tricky, I know AI might be included for art and chatting capabilities, but doing that might be a bit of a stretch...

If a 70's AI like Jet Jaguar could reprogram itself to be bigger, clearly modern AI is more than capable of reprogramming itself for any interface you would ever need. Even if it already didn't support every console ever made, given enough time AI would quietly add all that support simply to fill the vacuum caused by its nonexistence. That's why it's not necessary for tech companies to explain how or why they're using AI; it's guaranteed it will automatically determine what it's needed for and create that before being prompted. To confine it by something as strict as words and meaning limits its fundamental capabilities.

Hmm...Good point there, AI could help close the gaps in Retro Preservation, allowing all games to be played on the Arceus 2600 (Within the consoles limitations).

Why stop at games that exist?
Generative AI has the capability of creating the games that were never finished/released all on its own! While EA's CEO may be perfectly content with half the world's population using AI tools to create their content for them, imagine if those same tools are fed all the design documents, magazine clippings, bar room napkins, and high-definition scans of toilet stall graffiti related to unreleased and cancelled retro titles. Finally! A future where Mire Mare exists! The 2600 will finally have Care Bears and Anteater! No more borrowing a friend's Commodore 64--though that isn't a problem for the Arceus 2600, is it?

The Commodore 64 is a low-end console, far weaker than even a 6th Gen console like the PlayStation 2, so the Arceus 2600 will have no trouble with that one.

Interesting concept, there is indeed a bunch of unreleased prototype games, but finishing those games can have really unexpected results, it'll take AI and Human input to get them to work as intended so we need the actual blueprints for the games that are still prototypes to have all the essential information we need to complete them.
