I've been hacking Super Famicom Wars for the SNES, discovering ways to make custom maps, stats and AI in the game. I'm good at pixel art, hex editing, and a little bit of ASM.
My desktop usually looks something like this:

Nice to meet all of you.

If you select the text first and then click the URL button, that's a fast way to do it.

Eh?! 16x16? I'll look for something cute to resize.

EDIT: There, now I have a little Yuzu the fox by my name ^^

Very cute! Also, (as a small suggestion) I think MINIpics should show on the left side of posts, where avatars and ranks are. Right now they only show up in the active user list and post edit time (I think).

The character sprites are adorable. I'm not sure how to interpret the tiles they're standing on but everything else is distinct! Also glad to see Minnie Mouse getting some love.

I've got a Kirby's Adventure hack in its infancy, not quite ready for a WIP thread. I'm gonna take this thing to the moon if I can...

I'm a fan of those sunset level palettes...

Daily Cycle 2.0 (beta) (blackhole89) is my favorite one. I could have sworn that the ABXD theme had a daily cycle version as well.

Welcome! I think homebrew is just as interesting as romhacking and I do a little bit of both myself.

I'm always playing a little bit of a small variety of games, honestly, but the ones I'm mostly focused on right now are:

Chrono Trigger (PS1) with emulator enhancements to cut the load times to almost nothing (3x disc speed, 3x seek speed in DuckStation), with RetroAchievements.

If it weren't for the load times, it'd probably be the definitive "SNES-style" version. I own it physically though, because it's the cheapest physical CT copy you can get still. It's a little easier to handle on a PS2 with Fast Disc Speed mode if playing physically.

Chrono Cross - Radical Dreamers Edition (Steam PC). The speedup toggle on a standard NG playthrough is too good, and RDE's been patched to fix the frame rate issues ingame.

I'm also playing Chrono Cross right now (after beating CT), currently at the part with the ghost ship. I'm playing it on my PS2 and not the PC version though; having a CRT really makes any AI upscaling unnecessary.

I didn't completely disappear into gacha hell. Don't worry. We're into world 2.

I love how this final area of the forest came out from a presentation standpoint, but I want the up drafts to be able to carry Parasol Kirby's weapon directly into each Bronto Burt on the way to this exit, so I'll have a bit more design refinery to do.

The Cutter is fun for unreachable spots.

This tileset got a little spruce-up without losing the distinct Kirby look. A stone drop makes you fast enough for a falling desirable at the end of this path...

Boss arenas are fun to design. This is your first miniboss, so I put in a semi-safe space. He can still jump in the gap and grab you if you camp there too long though.

Naturally, I want to design the last room here around the power you just got from the turtle.

I do like what you've done with the purple colors on that night time castle level. It's good to see multiple paths being used as well, I hope you add some cool puzzles and side rooms.

Wonder whats gonna happen with Switch stuff going forward
I know the sources for Yuzu and Ryujinx have been archived, but I'm sure plenty of people will be trying to create their own forks and such

What a pain...

Nintendo's strategy is to intimidate developers who actually have the time and knowledge to work on something like this, rather than go after every single fork. If any Switch emulator gains traction again and people coalesce around it, Nintendo will do the same thing. And it's not just Nintendo; Nicalis DMCA-struck a Cave Story decompilation project and it was more or less abandoned following this, despite source code being reuploaded.

It's just a clever form of brain-drain on the open source community. Companies are starting to catch on to the fact that they don't need to take it to the courts in order to shut down these projects. Even if it went to the courts, people tend to fold instantly due to legal costs and risk of astronomical copyright fines.

Very cool tilesets, I'd bet it would look great on a CRT.

I really like what you did with the SGB colors, and Maffi is very cute. Also I wish I had a flashcart so I could try it on my real GBC.

I feel like a lot of Super Game Boy games are pretty much just shades of a single color and that feels like a waste. I guess my somewhat cartoon-y art style is a good fit for doing something like this, since I have a lot of flat areas of the same colors, and that leads to having a areas that "read" as red, or blue, or white, even if there's others stuff going on.

That's what I was thinking. Instead of having shades of one color, use several different colors for variety. Then if you need shading, use the different colors for a hue shifting effect. Plus, you can use many different colors while still using the same amount of palette slots.
