The only update i want for Mega Man X5 is to turn down the volume of the dialogue box noise. >_< Geez is that sound obnoxiously loud!!!

This should work: https://github.com/lightbulb-sun/x5-volume
Included are five patches for volume levels between 0 and 80 (default is 90/95).

Darkstalkers 3 (Sony PlayStation): I recently found out that Donovan has his newer improved sprites from Vampire Hunter 2/Vampire Savior 2 in this port, but they only appear if you choose the D.F. Power mode, I would like to see someone make them be his default sprites?

Vampire Savior (Sega Saturn): A hack that will add these improvements to it:

Give Donovan his improved sprites from Vampire Hunter 2/Vampire Savior 2.
Fix two text errors in the English mode version of these two endings:

In J.Talbain's ending, change John to Jon.
In Hsien-Ko's ending, change Lin-Lin to Mei-Ling.

Vampire Chronicle (Sega Dreamcast): A hack that will add all of these improvements to it:

1.Translate the game to English, just copy the text info for the win quotes, Jedah and both endings from the American PSP port. You might have to create new text for the save & load screens.
2.Give some of the fighters their English names, you can probably grab them from the American PSP port.
3.Have the CPU use the default palettes for all the fighters, instead of the alternate ones.
4.Change the palettes for the player select screen to the ones from Vampire Savior 1, it's using the ones from Vampire Savior 2.
5.Switch the palettes for the background stages to their original ones, the only time it should use the alternate palettes is when you fight the Mid-Boss and the secret Oboro boss fight.
6.Have J.Talbain, Rikuo and Sasquatch appear more often in arcade mode, the CPU rarely chooses them. Have them appear in the stages they appear the most on from Vampire Savior 1: https://wiki.gbl.gg/w/Vampire_Savior/Secrets#Stage_Select_Probabilities
7.Restore the unused hidden fighter Dark J.Talbain, I think he's still in the ROM. His winning theme is still there.
8.Give Donovan his improved sprites from Vampire Hunter 2/Vampire Savior 2, I think they might be in the ROM.

Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower (Sony PSP): A hack that will add all of these improvements to it:

1.Change the name of Jedah's stage back to being called "The Fetus of God" once again.
2.Restore the "DOWN!" text that's suppose to appear after you won a round.
7.Restore the unused hidden fighter Dark J.Talbain, he's still in the ROM. His winning theme is also still there as well.
8.Give Donovan his improved sprites from Vampire Hunter 2/Vampire Savior 2, I think they might be in the ROM.

Vampire: Darkstalkers Collection (Sony PlayStation 2): A hack that will add all of these improvements to it:

1.Translate the game to English.
2.Give Donovan his improved sprites from Vampire Hunter 2/Vampire Savior 2, for the arranged mode of Vampire Savior 1.
3.Give Vampire Hunter 2 the unused Night Warriors 2 title screen: https://tcrf.net/Vampire_Savior_2_%26_V ... rnate_Logo

I would like to see the 0xED hex editor get an unofficial update, so it will work properly on the newer operating systems of the iMac.

F-Zero (Super Nintendo): A hack that will replace the results music with the one from F-Zero 99.

Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom and Shadow over Mystara (Arcade & Sega Saturn): A hack that will change the green blood to red.

Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness (Nintendo 64): A hack that will add these improvements to it:

Restores the title screen music from Castlevania 64.
You can jump while holding the nitro.
When you load your save, the upgrades for your weapons are still there.

Would it be better to have a separate translations request thread on something like this? Not that I ever expect anything like that to be done soon by any stretch of the imagination but there are a few things I wouldn't mind seeing in English as sort of a bucket list thing. I would wonder if that would be better suited for its own topic.

Games: Super Mario Bros. 2 (U.S.) and Super Mario Bros. 3
System: NES
Symptoms: Sound Effects Pitch Change During BGM

In both the two games I listed, during one section of the BGM the pitch of the sound effects of some items temporarily changes by one half-step up before going back to the main section.

In Super Mario Bros. 2 (U.S.) this occurs in the Overworld BGM during the added mid-section that wasn't present in Doki Doki Panic, while in Super Mario Bros. 3 this occurs during the Airship BGM also during the "B" part (except for the 1-UP sound, which always has the correct pitch).

Why is this happening, and how can I fix this, please?

Thank you,

Ben (SMB2J-2Q)

Game: Donkey Kong
System: ColecoVision
Request: Bonus Timer And Other Fixes (both 24K and 16K)

When you begin any level, on the 24K the bonus timer ticks down at all times (the revised 16K ROM version has a slight delay in the appearance of the timer until the opening music finishes playing).

What I want to do is the same as in the NES release:
1. Temporarily halt gameplay while the opening level theme ("How High Can You Get?") plays.
2. Temporarily halt gameplay when Mario dies.
3. Don't show bonus timer while the opening level theme plays (partly fixed in the 16K ROM version).
4. (24K ROM) On the Elevator board, fix Mario falling through left elevator from his starting position.
5. (24K ROM) Cancel background music when Mario dies (fixed in 16K ROM version).
6. Cancel background music when low timer warning (1000 or 900 points left on timer depending on version) plays.
7. Halt bonus timer when Mario dies (whether by enemy collision or no time left).
8. Increase point values for Pauline's items on subsequent level cycles (to 500 points for cycle 2; and 800 points for cycle 3 and up).

Thank you,

Ben (SMB2J-2Q)

Game: X-Men
System: Sega Genesis
Request: Title Screen Music changed to a 16-bit version of X-Men TAS opening

Spider-Man on Sega Genesis has the theme song from the Spider-Man animated series even if it's a crappy rendition of it. I just want that for X-Men. I know it's not based on TAS. We have no X-Men games with the theme song though.

I agree with you, translations should have their own topic. As far as I'm concerned, I'd like to see proper translations of the SNES versions of Romancing Saga 2 and 3.

The "remasters" circa 2017 are awful, in my opinion, and even though the Romancing Saga 2 got that cool remake, I'd like to be able to experience the originals without suffering through the ugly art direction of the remasters and the jerky movement with halved framerate.

My hack idea/request is a graphical mod of Arcana for SNES where all the playable female characters have their hair up in ponytails.

Why stop there? Arcana neko ponytail mod!

For RS2 I agree, but RS3 with the mana sword translation patch is one of my most played RPGs ever. I wouldn't avoid playing that one, even if the text may feel frank at times.
