I'm curious how RHDN's downloads are staying open, since the former Discord staff (now Romhack.ing) were footing the hosting bill until August 20th. Hey fyi, some of us were using RHDN BBCode to format our mod descriptions. It seems this site is using PHP instead? Is there a way you could automate reformatting those so we don't have broken lists to fix? You should add Secret of Evermore Gameplay Balance by Ninakoru. Also your list has Secret of Evermore Faster Magic twice, the second one is after SD3.

RAM is editable memory, it's what the game uses to keep track of the game's current state. Your current number of lives, the level you're on, the items you've collected... those are all tracked by RAM. When the game turns off, RAM is not saved and the game starts from the beginning again. (Save RAM or SRAM, is a special kind that is stored on a battery to avoid data loss.)
In contrast, ROM is not editable. It's the program code that tells the game what to do, it's got the game's graphics and music, it says everything about how the game works. You can mess with RAM using a cheat device (GameShark etc). For instance, you could give yourself infinite lives while the device is active. You can remove the cheats and the game will play normally for everyone again. On the other hand, messing with the ROM (or ROM hacking) means you're editing the game's code for everybody.
