The vibe of this site is sick, wasn't planning on posting my stuff on any central hub but if this place stays chill, I don't mind. :P:)

Did you create your profile pic and is that a molar on top of its head?

Nah, my sister sent it to me once and I was captivated by his beauty and his iconic molar head.

That picture makes me feel like you’re ready to challenge me to a battle of wits.

Ikr? He looks so intelligent, that sitting pose just screams intellectual dominance.

Currently I’m not doing SNES music hacking, Slidelljohn, but I’ve messed with Chrono Trigger and Super Mario Kart before, got some plans to go further with it in CT.

I research everything I can about the game and (for NES, SNES, GB/GBC) use Mesen (Multi)'s PRG ROM memory debug window for a little while to see what data's being read like song data. I mark down and label the important addresses I need in Notepad++ and then heavily research the game/console I'm working on to find if there's any tools or other resources that could help me at all. Once I'm done with the watching and researching, I start messing with the song data to understand it better, try to explain it to people who ROM hack and don't ROM hack. At that point, I go from there.

This was my process for Super Mario Kart and Chrono Trigger, former is dead and latter is postponed for the time being, but I nearly found a way to link it and Furnace Tracker export options to make the process much easier. It's a lot of observation.

Ok Impala!: What systems did you create music for Rexius55?

Not much published or still left on my computer because the majority of my time ROM hacking and doing indie game dev things was when I was young, insecure and unconfident about my own stuff but my recent onlinework is getting "streamed", prerecorded audio into Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow on the GBA. I'll post that here when user submissions are up but you can find it here:

https://castlevaniamodding.boards.net/thread/990/tutorial-examples-streamed-audio-sorrow

I've also got some documentation done on Mario Tennis GBC and Akumajou Densetsu FC, though those are postponed til I get another commitment completed.

Whenever I click the button to reply to someone's post on a thread, or, as of the case of the SNES Hacking thread in the Hacking Discussion area, I can't make another post at all after my last one. Just pops up a white screen.

That’s sick, it’s cool to see how much Super Metroid hacking’s grown in terms of accessibility. :o

Yo, name's Rexius55, most call me Rex but you can call me whatever. I'm an amateur game dev and ROM hacker who does a variety of things including make music both in and out of ROM hacking, help with friends' projects, document lesser-attended to games and whatever else I do.

I love reverse-engineering games and figuring out how everything works. I'm not adept with a technical understanding of ROM hacking but I've been programming and doing this for over seven years now and can adapt really well. I'm pretty involved with Castlevania hacking at the moment, but I plan to work on some Mario Tennis GBC, Chrono Trigger SNES and other projects. HMU if you need any kinda help with a project and I'll see what I can do. :>

I remember seeing that on a YouTube video when I was young. Might've been PeanutButterGamer or someone but that opened up a lost memory lol. Looks sick!

I'd prefer a different looking and feeling site, that's part of why NeoRHDN appealed to me right off the bat a couple days ago. Don't wanna speak for anybody but my two cents is that it'd be better if you just gave NinCollin and whoever else is/ends up being involved in the development of the site the time to gradually develop everything. It's much easier to sit back and write up a list of ideas and expect them to be developed than it is to actually think through and gradually develop said ideas, along with handling the consecutive growth of a site.

Download the Document + Example Patches

Revised version 2. This is a tutorial document on putting "streamed" music into your Aria of Sorrow hacks! Note that this takes up a lot of data and that I may have to update both the tutorial and example patch to fix and update things in the future. Enjoy for those who use this!

All of the various colors/styles of the N64 and Game Boy Color are great imo. I grew up with the same purplish see-through GBC my dad had as a kid and I still love the design, both for nostalgia and how it looks.
