I think my favorite is v12; I'd be good to go with that one (i would like to see what a black bordered variant of v12 looks like though)

I sent you a pm with additional project files, so you are free from me in the future when needed. v13 is the requested v12 with black border. The bottom site reference color had to be changed too. I think black border looks quite good in any situation to be honest.

I can still do any adjustments and changes whenever you need. :-)

I would scooch the R close to the H a tad it looks slightly out of place given the gap, perhaps the R's leg can overlap the H, that way the "Neo" doesn't have to be fused onto the R either.

Hmm, it looked strange if only one letter was overlapping, so I tried to overlap them all. And I couldn't help and touched other aspects too. :D

v14:

EDIT:

Guess I'm officially flooding this thread now... I try to come up with something new and then I came up with something old.

I'd be happy with either v13, v14, or even v15. Awesome work (again)!

Hmm, I think I like the O in NEO having a full border.

Maybe use all of them or a variant based on the theme you're using.

I'm partial to the v18 myself but I usually am big on single color stuff. v16 looks kinda SMW-ish, though.

Haha thanks for the positive response. Honestly there is no hurry anyway, as the current logo does its job, just needs some more character (in the sense of stylized) to me. And that's the thing; such a logo is an identity and you don't want to pick randomly from a stranger. I'm already happy you even considered one. :-)

Edit: The background shapes are representing buildings in a big city. For the black and white lovers (same size, I just made a mistake when capturing screenshot):

Here is a new version 20, based on the original logo that is currently active. Basically a HD version if you so will, with a bit of color leaking effect:

Would you be able to combine the colors along with the stripes on the word NEO from v17 with the black city background on v19?

Honestly love that combination would be the final site banner; love those!!!

Here's a crappy 5 minute GIMP mockup of what i meant by the above

Maybe it could have a white outline around the whole thing to improve visibility on dark themes; not sure how that would with the different colors and stuff though; would definitely like a final copy of the above idea though (and will use it right away)

Ah, I see a man of culture. :P I personally don't think another outline looks good, because the NEO is already an outline and the R and g have an outline that goes out of the city. So this would be a visual clutter to me (just my opinion!). I actually added the whole city background as an alternative to an outline.

Most backgrounds aren't pitch black, so it will be visible a little bit, but most importantly the font stays visible no matter what. If the background city is not visible, that would be okay too to me, because that's basically a glorified outline.

I will send you download links shortly, with Inkscape project files, SVG format and higher resolution as well.

I tried to make the city a bit more pixelated, to give it a bit retro feeling (inspired by your mockup), but left it out for the moment. If you want, I could do that. Overall I did touch a little bit on some details. Here is an overview how it looks on different backgrounds. The first 4 are v21 without extra outline, the bottom 4 are v22 with extra outline. BTW I could change the thickness of the outline if this is too much and you like that in an alternate variant.

Honestly v21 looks fucking awesome, and I agree the white border of v22 is a little too much noise.

Yeah it doe end up looking like too much noise; will be using the v21!!

Also the pixel-y ness of my mockup was do to being a crappy mockup, and was an unintended side effect :P

The site banner at the top has been updated!

I'll be sure to make a NeoRHDN-specific credit page at the bottom and add your name to it; in the meantime, this thread will continue to stay pinned

So the day has finally come. Congratz, it looks fantastic in person. :p BTW the city background represents the community.

Yeah, it looks fantastic!

It's a pretty awesome idea! I also love how it goes along with the word Neo too, as "Neo" is typically associated affixed to the names of cities in cyberpunk/futuristic media

You might want to dig through what themes do and don't have logos of their own. I'm currently on the Christmas theme, and it has it's own xmas themed version of Almcmboard's "live the fun posting experience" logo, so I had to preview the Standard theme to see the new logo.
