How nostalgic.

Hi. Hiryuu here. Former ACMLM-goer and some other things. Much of my existence dates waaaay back before now but I do know, or know of, quite a few people that have posted in this thread so far.

I've been largely removed from the community for about a decade now but I do keep a watch out every so often so I'll try to make myself known here and there when I can.

Most probably from RHDN, as there's a forum thread about this site there and an official shout out from RHDN's owner NightCrawler in a news post, though this site was mentioned a couple times on cohost, mastodon, and from my signature lines in some of my profiles

I'm actually a total lurk for RHDN since most of my time was spent on one of its predecessors, Acmlm's Board. Vizzed, which still exists was inspired from the board's existence and many others still use the concept of the board even to this day, including the board you're on right now.

Admittedly, I had never been a RHDN member at all. And I've only decided to show up here to show my support after what had gone down with RHDN.

Same, though I do know or know of a few people here so it made it easier for me to show up.

There are a few names I do recognize from SMWCentral, so that did kind of help me get my bearings here. NinCollin, imamelia, and LadiesMan217 to name a few.

Ah, Vizzed, my first forum. I'll always be nostalgic for it, but admittedly posting there just hasn't interested me in years. Certainly doesn't help that I don't like the redesign Davideo did a few years back. Oh, and their RGR Plugin going from unusable to requiring an esoteric ritual to use due to the death of Flash. Gave me a big soft spot for anything Acmlmboard tho.

I never had a RHDN account, tho I posted a hack there once. I kinda stumbled onto here by accident, and was compelled to sign up seeing someone crazy enough to start an Acmlmboard in 2024 (which I thought was an insanely insecure thing to do, but it seems not actually).

I was on all old iterations of ACMLM boards in 2003-2020, Singed up in SMWCentral on 2007 when it was gaining users, Heck, as I studied up more and more, I was there when NESDEV's webpage moved. before the shutdown of Membler's own Webpage (if anyone remembers in the scene back then in that area),

When it comes to some very old forums, They do bite the dust when the time comes, as the times do change

Oh I remember those quite a bit. Not that I might've been anywhere directly part of that but I certainly kept track of Memblers for a bit there. I know they still get around...but if you knew what A-R.P.O.T.H.S among other things were, back then, you knew. There was a lot of NSF dev that got me to finally pick up the FT medium a very long time later but also be very interested in music dev for consoles in general based on their influence, among others like Damian Yerrick.

Hiii, I'm PalaceSwitcher (they/them). I spend a lot of my time either programming, making chiptune covers, or digging through NES games and documenting my findings. I love reverse-engineering things and figuring out how they work, and I plan on expanding my knowledge to other systems in the future.

My most noteworthy project is a disassembly of the bootleg port of Super Mario World. It's taught me quite a lot in the 4 years that I've worked on it, and I'm hoping my findings in this game can prove useful one day.

That's all I really have to say about myself. This is a really cool site and I'm hoping it can fill the gap that RHDN left.

I'm Red Soul, used to be quite a regular at RHDN, and at one point I served as an internal tester for Dynamic-Designs. We got some good patches out back then, I kinda miss those days.

Good to see the community coalescing here; I feel it is the way forward, to allow for continued growth since RHDN is now wilting.

While I have only Hues of Mana under my own belt, I hope to make more projects eventually, and share them here.

I wouldn't exactly say RHDN is wilting, but more like, we were forced to move here due to what happened with Nightcrawler and... a dubious group of people aiming to take advantage of RHDN's assets, and our relocation to here is as a means to save RHDN from an even worse fate.

Anyways, welcome.

I see the "Neo" in NeoRomhacking similar to what Neo Tokyo is to Tokyo, a rebuild version of the once great city/community. It follows the same structure and logic and keeps the spirit the old community had, but with its own style and features. One could say its a Remake of RHDN. :D

RHDN Remake kind of has a nice ring to it, haha.
