Mega Man in Super Mario World, Beta 1.2 | Testers wanted

Hey everyone! I’m looking for testers for Mega Man in Super Mario World. It was rejected because of the bugs, but I have changed a lot. I do not want to submit it again, until users suggest it is more polished. Would anyone like to beta test?

You can grab the rom hack here: https://retro-replay.com/romhacking/hacks/mega-man-in-super-mario-world/ hopefully I can get it uploaded to neoromhacking as well when it is more polished.

You play as Mega Man through eight of SMW’s tougher stages, with a chargeable Buster, sliding, Rush Coil, and weapons earned from bosses. Each of the first seven stages ends with a Koopaling fight followed by a Mega Man 7 Robot Master. There are two Bowser fights waiting at the end.

What’s new in Beta 1.2

A new scrolling overworld with connected paths and stage details.

Head stomps now damage all seven Koopalings and make them briefly recoil into their shells.

Hold B when stomping for a higher bounce.

Fixed X on the map so it shows details instead of entering the level.

Includes the earlier sprite, pickup, and screen-flicker fixes.
Download
Mega Man in Super Mario World on Retro Replay

The download contains a BPS patch, instructions, credits, and a player guide. Apply it to a clean, unheadered Super Mario World USA ROM:
CRC32: B19ED489
Size: 524,288 bytes

No ROM is included. Please don’t reuse emulator save states from an older build.

What I’d like feedback on

Any broken sprites, odd colors, flickering, or missing sounds.

Whether the bosses feel fair, especially their speed and attack timing.

Stomp detection and rebound height.

Any jumps, pits, pipes, or doors that cause trouble.

Whether the overworld route and controls are clear.

Anything that makes you stop and wonder what you’re supposed to do.
Main controls
B: Jump
Y: Fire, or hold and release to charge the Buster
L + Left/Right: Run
Down + B: Slide
R: Call Rush Coil
Start: Equipment menu
Up: Enter doors

On the map, use the D-pad to travel, B to enter, and hold X for details.

When reporting a bug, please include your emulator and core, the stage or boss, your equipped weapon, and what happened. Screenshots or short clips would help a lot. Please mention if you loaded an older save state.

This is still a beta, and I’d appreciate some fresh eyes on it. Thanks for giving it a try!

The videos say they are not available. Curious as to what you are working on, I would like to check them out.
