I recently tested a few themes. There are some really great ones, lot of them are not my thing. Did you go through the list and tried a few of them? Do you have a few to recommend or a favorite in use?

To change the look and theme for this forum, click Edit profile, scroll down a bit to Options/Theme and click the combo box to open up the list. On the bottom of the page you can Preview theme to see how the forum looks. To set and save the theme selection, click Edit profile.

I really like the look of "ABXD (Nina)" theme. There are a few more that looked good to me, maybe I rotate between them over time. In general I prefer those without a background image, or at least one that is not intrusive. (BTW an option to disable background image would be great to have. And are lists and list items in posts not supported?)

My top favorites so far:

- "ABXD (Nina)"
- "Miner's Lament (KP(9000)"

Also check these out:

- "Acid (Ice Man)"
- "Daily Cycle 2.0 (beta) (blackhole89)"
- "Diet board2 (Tyty)"

And here is a (small) screenshot with "ABXD (Nina)" theme active:

Tanzanite has wonderful color balance and texture without being distracting. I do agree with your top picks. Daily Cycle and Night are classics. The Tropical one is pretty cool for one of the full-screen non-pattern background themes. As a Kirby fan, though... the KDL3 land textures on the table cells like that don't work as a web theme, not in the way Zelda does. (I didn't see the Zelda theme in there, but I know it exists.)

"The Tropical" looks nice too, but I'm unsure about the background. It's on the less distracting and good looking fullscreen images. BTW its also a nice feature to see how many people actually use the theme. I've never seen this in any forum before.

BTW "Simple Luna (Lunaria)" is also beautiful. Totally forgot to list.

I've gone with Blue Storm (KP9000) because I enjoy deep, darker blues/indigo colors.

It doesn't look that different from the standard, default theme, either. Very comfortable for me.

Old Blue's pretty nice too, and has a slight bit more of a classic feel to it.

I use the Simply Luna (Lunaria) theme, because I'm a sucker for ponies. There's a few others I found in there I thought were nice but I don't remember the names. There's a christmas style theme in there that's pretty nice, and I plan to switch to it for December. I love christmas forum themes for some reason, even tho a lot of things about the holiday annoy me (usually the constant playing of the same 10 songs)

Daily Cycle 2.0 (beta) (blackhole89) is my favorite one. I could have sworn that the ABXD theme had a daily cycle version as well.

As a CAPCOM-loving maiden, I mainly use the Megaman (Acmlmboard 1.x Classic) as my theme of choice no questions asked.;)

I checked out Black Matrix for a bit before I settled on ABXD (Nina). It's a nice and sleek, but simple theme. Very fitting for me. I'm a simple person.

Night. Exceptionally classic theme that I pretty much go-to on any AB incarnation, if it has it.

Green Night is a nice alternative.

I decided screw it, I'm switching to the Christmas theme. I'm usually the "It's not Christmas season until at least after Thanksgiving but it shouldn't be December" person but I wanted a change of scenery so I decided to just switch to it now :P

I'm using Metro / "Windows 8 Style" (Nicole).

It is simple, readable and has a good font size so my eyes aren't strained.
That said, I'd like something similar, but with reds/oranges over blue, haha.

If you're worried about font size, you can increase font size in your profile settings (towards the bottom next to date and time format). I know I bumped mine up because I live in 2024 with a 1080p monitor, so a smaller font size is just makes me lean forward into my monitor too much. Frees you up to pick other themes without worrying about font size too.

I'm on the same boat, 1080p, but it's enough for me, though my eyes aren't quite HD anymore haha.
Thanks for the font tip, I'll check it out.
