Please take the time to read the following and feel free to share your thoughts. I've posted this on the board to help generate open discussion. Hopefully, we can all keep things peaceful.

With regards to Discord and this site, I'm of the same view as a few others. Best to limit Discord to what can be easily supervised and instead focus on building main site activity. However, this brings us to a few other considerations that affect the wider community.

Recent events have shown that a site owner, their staff, and the regular members need to have positive communication in order to reach fair outcomes. I'm sure we can draw similar lessons from other past scenarios. Naturally, this leads us to the subject of future staff selection and (presumably) of submission reviewers.

Ideally, I feel that there should be some element of polling involved when the amount of users becomes large enough to matter. This would give the average member more of a say in terms of representation. Very important for community relations on a site of this ambition. However, I can understand the need for some sort of transitional team -- though I still feel that it should meet with the approval of all members here and be chosen on the basis of commitment and impartiality.

Thank you for reading.

I might not be able to respond immediately, but I'd love to see some productive discussion around these matters.

I've thought about some form of transitional team, but I'm not sure if any (former)-RHDN staff would be open to it; they likely have plans of their own they're working on perusing already, but I might try reaching out later anyways

As for staff-community relations, I have already started thinking about having some sort of PR team to handle concerns/ideas/etc that the community may have and how to address them

You could always take applications when things liven up a bit. Things are still up in the air, but a mix of old and new faces couldn't hurt.

Not a bad idea. Feedback is vital for a growing community.
