I don't see a link to ROMs in my post either.

Well, the text files you linked is a list of urls to download the roms. You don't need Fightcade for that, just copy paste each line in example. I don't want sound like accusing here, just talking about the details.

Fair. In any case, it's been edited.

Still doesn't change the fact that people should play Fightcade, that said.

I'm not logged in on my phone, so I wasn't able to edit it until now, but NinCollin has gotten it for me by now :P

At any rate, I'm glad we can agree that discussing is fine, but linking is a no no.

I guess I really shouldn't be surprised that the first thing I see when I go online is a fucking SSJ4 Gogeta.

So still have not finished Super Mario RPG :( , been having a hard time finishing RPGs the last 3 years. I’ll invest hours into one, and just randomly stop. Playing Mario RPG is the closest I’ve come to finally beating an RPG again. But I do plan on beating it since I’m so close.

Anyways, ever since Apple allowed emulators to be on the App Store, I started playing Snatcher on my phone. Beaten it before so I am familiar with the game, but it’s been nice to revisit the world of Snatcher after a decade.

After Snatcher I plan to finally play Policenauts.

Cosmoteer. Mostly doing 2P with a friend, off and on. I don't have anything to show for it just yet but it's also in Early Access and we've been kinda learning the gist of the game too. It's an alright space game if you're into such things. I'd go into more specific genres than just 'space' but it does a lot for what it is. It kinda reminds me of a 2D, stripped down version of Elite Dangerous, honestly.

Cosmoteer is sooooo fun. My partner and I had such a blast playing it together. :)

I just started Star Revenge 7 recently. It's interesting to play a SM64 hack when some of your core mechanics are removed (ie: triple jump and wall jumps) and you have to earn them back. It's almost like playing Metroid Prime 2 but on Super Mario 64.

Not something I'd recommend unless you're very used to Super Mario 64, though.

Got a bunch of Garou, Breakers Revenge, KOF 2002, SFA3 and 3S done this evening over Fightcade2 with a bud. I'll probably be putting up vids of the exploits over the coming days and weeks so I'll be sure to link them as they come. I also have a session for RC to put up over the weekend.

Super Collapse 3 puzzle mode. On level 88, which I don't think I've ever reached before. I think I remember as a kid only getting to level 40~ or so. Puzzle is definitely my favorite mode in this game, slider is pretty manageable too but I get stressed out when classic/relapse/strategy add in a 4th (and 5th or 6th) color block.

Trouble in Terrorist Town (c/w: got some blood here) got back into the mix. We've been going through and doing some testing over the last couple of weeks or so to see about getting the server back up and running. We might have some people show up and start streaming things like we used to soon but it's too early to tell since we have to have everyone's schedules be in line to do such a thing.

I just finished playing Star Revenge 7 co-op with my friends, and now I'm playing Tetris Attack and Panel de Pon trying to de-rust.

I've completed Tetris Attack's VS Mode on S-Hard difficulty without much issue, but I seem to have serious problems clearing Panel de Pon's VS Mode on S-Hard difficulty without losing, despite that game having technically a much easier AI to work with. I used to clear this without much problem as well, so I guess I'll just chalk this up to a certified "old man has aged to the point where he's lost several steps in his movement" moment.

Once you're done there, Mewtwo awaits your challenge in Pokemon Puzzle League on V-Hard.

I did some more Mahjong, of late, I have a few clips up on the channel I put this morning. Here's one of them:

I've gotten back to my TAP Master grind last night, and after months of not seriously grinding (just occasional TGM 20G on my Switch handheld to kill time), and I very quickly made a 16 second improvement to my best time. That sweet M rank is crawling closer, but it's still so far away yet!

I should really consider doing this now that I've gotten sub-60 in Apo and my official times in official games are close enough. The best 'clone' performance I did was on Heboris back in the day but it was a cheat - used SRS rotation to get S9. That's not nearly as difficult as using a rotation system like TGM that has limited wall kicks. I don't think I've done better than S3 or so on the original TGM but it's been a hot minute since I've tried.

Honestly, I feel like TGM is a different beast, because seemingly everything about getting good at it doesn't seem to translate much back to guideline Tetris and vice versa. Best advice I can give, is to press Down x8 CBA on the title screen to get a 20G start. You've gotta be able to survive at least 500 levels of it so you might as well start practicing the hard part (when you go back to normal runs, you can treat 300-500 as if it were 20G to make things less complex than trying to remember whats still possible and for how long). Another bit of advice is to not underestimate the step reset. SRS's basically infinite lock delay stalling makes it very easy to get used to hesitating for as long as you need when you get stuck in a really tricky situation, even for an otherwise very fast player like you, and TGM will beat you into the ground for hesitating too long. Other than that, don't think about the kicks too hard. What you're really trying to do, is avoid dependencies (such as kicks), because the randomizer, while forgiving enough to usually not flood you the same piece too much, is more than happy to not give you the piece you want for a long time. Have a plan B to fill things, and don't hesitate to skim your board if you're getting high up or things are dicey.

I'm sure you know about the Arcade Archives releases of TGM and TAP, but I do highly recommend them. Easy, simple, and very low latency is just really fucking convenient. I find MAME to be laggy if you don't do something to try and improve it, and just less convenient and annoying in general TBH. Fightcade FBNeo and the TGM PSX Conversion is simple enough and low latency too if you're really against spending money.

If you do give it another shot: Good luck!

After multiple failed SM64 16-star speedruns that mostly died at Lethal Lava Land, I've went back to Panel de Pon Vs Mode S-Hard difficulty. Go figure. After having taken a break from it, I clear the mode without losing on the first try. I guess it be like that sometimes.
