Howdy! I'm Autumn, aka Sarah or Scylla Shinespark. I'm a SNES rom hacker and I like sweets. Any pronouns are cool.

Hey folks, I'm kkzero. I dabble in various things, romhacking being one such thing. I dabble in various romhacking things too. While RHDN was still up, I submitted some mind-numbingly low-effort flukes such as Samus Goes to the Fridge to Get a Glass of Milk, Gengar, and Kirby's Dream Land 2 DX.

Yo, I'm Mani, made a bunch of hacks many years ago, not so many recently. I'm passionate about the existence of hacks, however.

Hey there. Name's DarkBowser64 which can be written as DB64 or DB for short. I'm mostly here to browse, but I care quite a lot about the preservation of games and hacks, and my brain is just full of random niche knowledge which can vary from tangentially to totally related to tech and games.

The most I've ever really dabbled in the actual art of hacking is just some very basic Super Mario World stuff that I kept to myself. Other than that, I just check things out.

Yo, name's Rexius55, most call me Rex but you can call me whatever. I'm an amateur game dev and ROM hacker who does a variety of things including make music both in and out of ROM hacking, help with friends' projects, document lesser-attended to games and whatever else I do.

I love reverse-engineering games and figuring out how everything works. I'm not adept with a technical understanding of ROM hacking but I've been programming and doing this for over seven years now and can adapt really well. I'm pretty involved with Castlevania hacking at the moment, but I plan to work on some Mario Tennis GBC, Chrono Trigger SNES and other projects. HMU if you need any kinda help with a project and I'll see what I can do. :>

Ok Impala! is the name. Been creating ROM hacks since the early days. Most notable recent creations are:

Zelda II - Amida's Curse https://neoromhacking.net/hackpage.php?id=6292
Super Mario Kart - Epic Racers https://neoromhacking.net/hackpage.php?id=5514

I'm currently working on Embers of Mana, a ROM hack of Final Fantasy Adventure (GB).

Hello! I go by RT-55J, but you can call me RT or artee. I've been around the romhacking community a long time here and there, since the early acmlmboard days. Back then I mostly just downloaded editors for my favorite games, messed around with them, and then never released anything.

These days I'm mainly a Metroid romhacker. You can find my stuff on Metroid Construction. My proudest achievement, however, is not a romhack, but rather a fully relocatable and commented disassembly of Metroid 2.

I dabble with other games from time to time as well. As a hacker, I'd say my greatest weaknesses at the moment are making my own tooling, and anything to do with music.

Something else I like doing is making maps of videogames. Recently I've made several maps of romhacks for Metroids 1, 2, 3, and 4, which you can find on my silly website.

I also my ZZT games (ZZT being a quaint little game creation system for DOS).

I hope this place turns out okay.

Name is Star_scream1646. Don’t really do any type of romhacking (mainly lurk), but I appreciate everything that romhackers have done for the retro gaming community over the years. Such as fan translations, QoL/Improvement hacks, and bug fixes and many more. So thank you all for what you all do, and to NinCollin for this new site!

Hello. I'm commonly known as Mattrizzle* in this neck of the World Wide Web, but I also go by Matt.

I've been part of the greater ROM hacking community for around two decades, joining Acmlm's Board (a flagship community which was run by the same Acmlm who created the Acmlmboard software that board and this site both run on) in late 2004. Long before disassembling and decompiling games was commonplace (and prior to having that knowledge), I was digging through Super Mario World the old-fashioned way (using a hex editor) finding, testing and documenting ROM offsets to tweak several things in the game, many of which are now part of SMWCentral's ROM Map.

The first release that I was really proud of was my Super Mario Bros. 2 music patch for Super Mario World. Prior to it, DJ Bouché had created a Super Mario Bros. 3 music patch for the same game. I studied his notes and examined the changes the IPS file made to the ROM in order to make my own (he gave me permission to use some of his arrangements). By the time this was released, it was quickly eclipsed by the discovery/release of the first Japanese version of AddMusic. My music patches and Bouché's do not work on modern, accurate SNES emulators because less was known about how the echo effect worked, and ZSNES and Snes9x inaccurately emulated audio.

With all of the new tools (and thus, higher standards) now in place in Super Mario World hacking, I kind of got left in the dust, and began to broaden my horizons to other Super Nintendo games. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, NBA Jam T.E., and the Donkey Kong Country trilogy are a few of these.

When it comes to assisting others, my roles are typically artist and/or assembly coder.
Golden Yoshi's SMW2+2 and eskayelle's NBA Jam 2K21 as well as 2K22 T.E. hacks are showcases of both.

I also contribute to The Cutting Room Floor. When not digging through games to make a ROM hack, it's usually in search of unused content. I probably use "digging" to describe hacking way too often. Sometimes, it's like being a digital "archaeologist". Those who have ever been excited to find some aspect of how a game works after a long deep-dive into a debugger or hex editor will understand.

* It's not pronounced Matt Rizzle. I forgive you if you thought that. The name is one an old friend of mine coined during my teenage years. He unfortunately lost his life to congestive heart failure last year, just a couple of years short of 40 (R.I.P.). Initially the nickname was Mattress (as in the part of a bed, given to me due to my stature resembling a mattress), but he later Snoop-Doggified it by replacing the last syllable with -izzle. It has nothing to do with rizzler or related newfangled words that Gen Alpha is using.

I'm Code Indigo (she/her), and while I'm not working on rom hacks at this time I am developing a homebrew casino game for the MSX and C64. Even then my romhacking skill is limited to just some graphics replacements; I haven't really dug into the field all that much compared to other things.

Sadly I am not bunny, but I play one in FFXIV (when I can afford the subscription).

Word of advice to you all, don't switch Theme to "AE Torture Revisted".

Hello I'm Ardisan. I would like to say that its awesome that this exists. I wouldn't say I'm a hacker, but I love playing romhacks and hope this helps hackers/modders continue to grow. I'm probably going to be a lurker like how I was on RHDN, but I'll lurk with pride.

I can related to digging through ROMs in a hex editor for data; I'm the only reverse engineer I know for Arcana (SNES). And I've heard of Golden Yoshi's mods! I'm not very good at Yoshi's Island so I didn't get far, but I also remember a 3rd SMW2+ that was... a SMW mod with RPG elements?
