I checked out Black Matrix for a bit before I settled on ABXD (Nina). It's a nice and sleek, but simple theme. Very fitting for me. I'm a simple person. |

Well, at least there's an endorsement from Nightcrawler. Here's to hoping this site becomes the new home for anything romhacking and translations.
Posted by jamesamong007 If I'm to understand what happened, I don't think there's any way Nightcrawler could keep the site up and running. It sucks that this is what it has come to, but there wasn't really anything else that could've been done. Between financial complications, and copyright being an issue, that "untrustworthy" group (using very loose quotes there) ended up being the final nail in the coffin. It's either this, or nothing at all. |

I've been playing SM64 Co-op DX with my friends, just mostly goofing around and doing funny things like break some hacks wide open with Peach and Daisy, or use funny character mods like Neco Arc.
My next hack to play on SM64 Co-op DX is Super Mario 74. Can't wait to break that game wide open. |

Honestly, I do like a lot of Gamma V's hacks, with the most recent one I've played being Super Luigi Land. I could only wish I was only a fraction of how good she is at her craft. I'd like to think I'm semi-ok at judging levels (been going through VLDC entries since VLDC12), but not so much at designing levels myself, haha.
I also heard Gamma is also currently at work on Super Luigi Land 2. Can't wait for that one. |

I think this is a nice novelty that I feel most forums abandon nowadays due to fear of a lack of posting quality. But I think it's a novelty I like to see. I'm not active anymore for the aforementioned "Posting Syndrome++", so I'm in no rush to get some of the stuff I want. But I'm going to make it no secret in saying I want Marisa's Hat and Ruby Staff. :> |

I do sometimes browse the web with my android phone sometimes when I'm nowhere close to my laptop, but I try not to write posts when I can afford not to. I have caveman fingers and I have the tendency to fat-finger my texts on my phone, so having to write an entire post with actual content in it on a mobile device is way too challenging for me to want to consider.
Some people are naturally good at that type of stuff. I, sadly, am not one of them. |

I've always liked acmlmboards tbh. I'm a simple guy, and I like simple and effective. I used to frequent SMWCentral, so this board is almost like home to me in a way. |

I know a friend of mine who would love a thread like this.
I do like bunnies too, though I'm more of a fox guy myself. Now, she's not a straight bunny (more like a bunny girl, really), but I'd be remiss if I didn't mention a certain v-tuber, peko. |

Hi. I'm Galeforce. A Caster class servant with a penchant for romhacks, both playing them and dabbling into editing them. (Though, haven't edited one to a serious extent.)
I used to frequent SMWCentral, but now I'm here. I used to romhack Super Mario World, and a little bit of Fire Emblem. My romhacking days have mostly been over though. I just don't have the free time nor motivation to dabble into the coding anymore. But I really do enjoy playing romhacks any chance I get. Right now, I'm just messing around in SM64 Coop DX with my friends and I hella do enjoy my time there. Looking forward to seeing what I can find here. |

I've never actually tried the Kiseki series, but they have always been on my "games to try out before I pass away" list. There's just a lot of colorful characters; some of whom I've been introduced to in other games via a collab event.
I am aware of the overall darker atmosphere the series has, but I've played games with a similar tone, so I'm well prepared. (Though, I may likely still be open to some surprises.) I just haven't had the opportunity to sit down and try a game out. Any idea which game I should start with? Or are any of them a decent starting point? |

I have to remind that while there are many games with a thriving romhacking community, there's equally as many games that aren't so lucky. Which is why it is especially important that there's a main hub that can give attention to these less fortunate games, because they have their own dedicated fanbase, no matter how big or how small they are.
I hope to see this site thrive, and carry on the legacy inherited from RHDN. |

Posted by Oz74 Let me take a wild guess. It's the same gacha I used to play. I stopped playing this game, not because I don't enjoy it anymore, but because I simply lack the time to sink into these type of games. Between this one and FGO, I was sinking way too much time, and I had to make a difficult choice.
I'm no stranger to slow-paced games and games north of 40 hours of playtime. I do appreciate being told that context is likely important, so I do thank you for informing me before I end up starting out of order. I figured starting from the beginning of each arc would be best, but I figure I'd ask just to be sure. As for the question at the outset, I think all of the scenarios do seem appealing. The first one especially interests me. If I were to guess, that's from Trails in the Sky, right? I am aware that a Switch remake is coming soon, however my hands are tied funds-wise due to ordering an Everdrive 64 X7 the other week (still waiting for it to arrive to this day) so it may be a while before I get my hands on it. I have no problem starting it on its original console release. If anything, it'll get my feet wet until I get my hands on the remake. I do have an answer of which arc I might start with at least. It's just a matter of finding the right time to do it. (And actually remembering; I have a bad habit of saying these things and straight up forgetting about them the following day.) |

Posted by Oz74 I mostly main Empire/Princess, so Rozenciel is a must in whatever content I run through, no matter which faction I decide to run. Sometimes I pepper in Altina, even if I don't run Empire. I like her that much. Currently running Miracle Staff on her, i like the extra AOE + debuffs she provides, though GOEL does seem like a tempting option.
I might snag one off of Steam if my situation allows for it. I might have $20 to spare but it might end up getting used for food when a week gets tight. Either way, I'll keep an eye out. |

Posted by Ravenfreak Agreed 1000%. Not to mention, the original GBA felt very clunky, at least for my hands. It also wasn't good to carry around, either, and that's not even mentioning the lighting issues that came with it, forcing you to have a lighting accessory on you. I also had the same gripes with the original DS, as well, though the original DS model solved the lighting issues the OG GBA model had. |

Posted by Hiryuu I mostly just run that nowadays, plus some more protection just in case. Simple but effective. Also, I've heard some... really shady things about Norton as of late, so I would never trust Norton, even if it's the only thing you'd have. |

Posted by Hiryuu That lines up with a lot of things I've been told, honestly, and I'm glad I never went down that route. I'm cynical by nature, so this does not surprise me. It does sadden me that, to this day, many people still fall for the same ol' trap, even if it's literally all the third party AVs really have left, in terms of retaining any kind of relevancy. |

I might not be involved with people on a daily basis, but I have seen a lot of people in my almost-37 years, so I understand where you're coming from. People have enough things to be worried in their day to day, especially when it comes to work and finances, so being able to figure out things like how a computer operates would be kinda difficult to do.
That last part holds especially true. Even if we know a lot of things, there's still a lot of unknown left to discover. So we can't know truly everything. |

I just started a co-op on Super Mario 74. Already blazed through the first 90 stars of that hack. Gonna finish the rest on the next time I arrange a play session with my friends. Can't wait to break Luminium-Sphere and Ombru-Sphere wide open, lol. Those 2 levels gave me fits when I first played. |

Thank you Oz74. Because you reminded me to get on Langrisser Mobile, I've been back to playing it now. I've gotten off my lazy bum and did Time Rift 14-1 through 14-7. It was about time. I had long neglected those.
Also roided up my Altina too, so she's back to being top 10 overall power. |

I just finished Super Mario 74 on Co-op DX with my friends. Well, more or less finished. There's 2 overworld stars left and a star in Course 1 that I completely forgot about that I'll just finish offstream. Getting the hidden Star 151 was completely ridiculous, and Luminium-Sphere and Ombru-Sphere were so incredibly oppressive, that I felt justified in never finishing this game when it first came out. If I didnt have my friends as respawn points, I'm not sure I'd ever finish the hack. Having to die and start the level from scratch every single time doesn't sound like fun, especially when you have to do precise jumps to get to where you last were before.
If you haven't played Super Mario 74, and you plan on playing it, and you're at the skill level of an average SM64 player, then play it with save states. Save yourself the grief. I'll be trying Mario Builder 64 next. My Everdrive 64 X7 just arrived, and I've been wanting to mess with that game for a bit for a while now. |
