NeoRHDN - Utilities - Utility Information

P2M Extractor (P2ME)
Miscellaneous
Description
This is a command-line utility for extracting the contents of GameShark .p2m files. We discovered that this was a rather invaluable tool in testing, as the GameShark does quirky things when it imports the files, such as dumping cheats with the same name. It's a pretty simple utility, as such you can just run it with the -h switch from a command line to view the help. This is based on Omniconvert's code, so the same stipulations apply to the source code.

-t --type Explicitly provide the file type.
Usage: type=p2m (updates) type=ps2 (full code save)
Helpful if you download official saves with FireFox,
etc.

-d --decrypt Decrypt cheats during extraction

-e --noempty Remove empty cheats (headings and comments)

-c --nocolor Remove color codes from strings

-b --bypasscrc Bypass CRC check (may help on older files)

-h --help Display help

-v --version Display the version of p2me

The only reason the --type option exists is because when you download official files from gameshark.com with some browsers, all you get of the file is the first word of the file name, and no extension. If the file has an extension, it can be automatically recognized and checked, but if you don't want to rename the file for some reason, or you're doing a batch of them with a script, specifying this option will ensure that the file is processed properly.
