NeoRHDN - Utilities - Utility Information

Breath of Fire 5 Editor (PS2)
Game Specific
Description
Editor for Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter for PlayStation 2 (AKA Breath of Fire 5). This program lets you edit lots of stuff in your Breath of Fire 5 game, and you can then patch the changes into your ISO.

Updated to version 1.7 (2/26/2024): Made a new page where you can adjust D-Counter percentage cost for: D-Dive, D-Charge, turn in battle as a human, turn in battle as a dragon, and walking out of battle. Also updated the hacking notes.

Updated to version 1.6a (2/17/2024): Added a lot more weapon skills to the list (on the "Weapon/Item" page), and a second button that includes comments on what the weapon skills do. Also added a new button on the D-Counter page that explains a couple cautions when using the "Disable D-Counter" option. Many thanks to Tiael from RHDN who supplied all the information used in this update.

Updated to version 1.6 (2/15/2024): Added an option to turn off anything that adds to your D-Counter percentage. Added instructions on how to edit how much is added to your D-Counter percentage when using Dragon Ryu's abilities (Vortex, Hurricane, or Twister). Fixed some names in the Skills list. Fixed a small bug on the shop page where it would not always tell you what type of shop it was (Weapon or Item/Skill). Updated the hacking notes.

Updated to version 1.5 (2/7/2024): Added 8 missing Lin skills, added X Blade and Twin Wake skills, added all enemy skills.

Updated to version 1.4 (2/5/2024): Can now edit all character skills, including strength and combo AP cost (in the "Skills/AP" page). Can also edit shield skills. Updated the hacking notes.

Updated to version 1.3 (1/30/2024): Added the rest of the shops in the shop section, added editing for what skills weapons have (in the "Weapons/Items" page), updated the hacking notes.

Updated to version 1.2 (1/26/2024): Fixed a bug that could change some equipment or item stats unexpectedly, or cause an error with the editor (Range adjustment and others). Added a few new pages for Skills, AP cost, Shops, and Hacking notes. You can turn off AP cost for movement in battles, can edit AP cost for Skills in battle, can edit what's for sale in some of the shops. Will add the rest of the shops in a future update, but wanted to get this version out quickly because of the bug fixes.

Updated to version 1.1 (1/24/2024): Added new pages for Weapons, Items, Armor, and Shields. Can now edit any piece of equipment or item in the game, including attack, who can equip, weight, cost, range, accuracy, magic, defense, movement, damage, HP restored, targeting, explosion radius, etc. Have also updated the hacking notes (included in the zip file) which includes detailed technical info on these new additions.

Features:

* Can edit all Character starting stats like HP, AP, Attack, Defense, Magic, etc.

* Can edit character starting weapons, armor, and shields, and can have them start with up to 3 of each of those (weapons, armor, and shields).

* Can edit character starting equipment stat boosts for ATK, DEF, MAG, SPD, and MOV. These are done in percentages, and are different than the character's regular stats.

* Can edit your party's starting Zenny (money), and items. You normally start with 3 items, but the editor lets you have a total of 8 items, and a quantity of up to 250 for each item.

* Enemy and boss stats can be edited as well: HP, AP, Attack, Defense, Speed, Magic, and Move.

* Can edit experience you get from enemies and bosses.

* Can also edit enemy and boss dropped and stolen items. You can get any item, weapon, armor, shield, or Shield & Weapon Skills.

* Can edit how many items you'll get from enemies/bosses (up to 9), or you can edit the bonus equipment stat boost for weapons, armor, etc (up to "+9").

* The drop/steal rates can also be edited (you can easily make it so you'll always get dropped or stolen items from enemies or bosses).

* Can adjust how much Zenny enemies drop.

* Can edit any enemy or boss in the game (a total of 136 enemies and bosses).

Have included some detailed hacking notes in the zip file, since there's not much online for this game. Will continue to update the hacking notes in future updates.

When patching, you can decide if you want it to create a new ISO or not. This keeps your original ISO safe.

Will be updating in the future with sections for weapons, armor, items, shops, skills, etc.

Editor is for the USA version with a serial number of SLUS-20499, and the exact name of the ISO file I'm using is: Breath of Fire - Dragon Quarter (USA).iso
