Genesis Game Genie Emulator Tool
Miscellaneous
Description
This program does a few things: It will encrypt/decrypt Genesis Game Genie codes, allow you to add any of your codes to a .pat cheat file for use with many Genesis emulators, and lets you edit most existing .pat cheat files.

Features:

* Can convert a Genesis Game Genie code into a ROM address and value, or convert your ROM address and value into a Game Genie code in real time as you type it in.

* Has dual purpose "Insert" buttons that lets you insert different replacement instructions as your value (NOP, RTS, and Branch). Will cycle through the different instructions each time you click the buttons.

* Has dual purpose Up/Down buttons: If you click on the Up/Down buttons, they behave like you'd expect. If you hold down on the Up/Down buttons, the value will automatically start increasing/decreasing on it's own and increase speed even more if you hold down longer than 2 seconds.

* There is an option that will let the Up/Down buttons increase/decrease the ROM address by even numbers. This is recommended since Genesis ROM addresses should be even numbers.

* Can make Game Genie codes with ROM addresses up to 0xEFFFFF (15MB). This does two things: It prevents people from trying to make a Game Genie code from a RAM address (FFxxxx), since codes like that won't work on a real Game Genie, and secondly, it lets you access any part of one of the largest Genesis ROMs (Demons of Asteborg) which is 14.6MB.

* There is a button to add your Game Genie codes to a list of codes for a .pat file (up to 7 codes). More info about the .pat files below.

* There is a section that lets you add RAM address type codes (FFxxxx) to the .pat list of codes, since most emulators support them.

* You can select to enter RAM addresses with either a 1 or 2 byte value.

* You can add your own code descriptions to the codes that you add to the .pat file list.

* There are dual purpose "Clear" buttons that let you clear a code on the first click, and clear the code description on the second click.

* Once you've added your codes to the code list, you can select the ROM that the codes are for and create a new .pat file. The program automatically names the new .pat file so that the emulator will recognize it.

* The purpose of the .pat file list is to create a new .pat file for use with many Genesis emulators. Many emulators use the .pat files to save your cheat codes for each game you play.

* Can also edit most existing .pat cheat files.

* The .pat cheat files that this program creates and edits are used by Kega Fusion, Genecyst, and most, if not all versions of Gens (Gens, Gens Hacking Version, Gens Tracer, Gens 9.5b, Gens 11, Gens r57, and many more).

* There are a couple Help buttons in the program that should answer any questions.

* Will also work with 32x ROMs in many cases. 32x Game Genie codes will work with Kega and most Gens emulators. Kega also supports 32x assembly (SH2) codes.
