Game Description |
This is a conversion of the two Rock Man (Mega Man) arcade games: Rock Man the Power Battle, and Rock Man the Power Fighters which explains the "Battle and Fighters" in the title there. These were both "boss rush" games which pit the player against robot masters from the first seven classic games without any platforming or levels to break up the pace. It was one of the few Mega Man games to be released exclusively in Japan. It has new features over the arcade games, with the most notable being a database with 36 robot master entries in addition to the 7 main characters. However, there is no longer any multiplayer beyond the database transfer.

Translation Description |
This is the first 100% playable English translation of Rock Man Battle & Fighters for the Neo Geo Pocket Colour. It uses English localized names including Mega Man, Proto Man, Bass, Dr. Light and Crash Man along with the English weapon names and so forth.
List of translated segments:
[li]Menus: The title screen's start prompt as well as the pause menu, database transfer, options menu, and save delete are all fully translated.[/li]
[li]Robot Master tips: Translated from the ground up rather than being based on the arcade translations so they are more accurate than ever.[/li]
[li]Cutscenes: The cutscenes are translated directly from Japanese now thus making them more accurate than ever. Ending cutscenes were partially based on marc_max's earlier translation as they are all around faithful to the Japanese text. However, they now use official Capcom English terminology and the typos have been cleaned up. Additionally, Robot Master names are displayed in a consistent manner for each now.[/li]
[li]Database: For the first time ever, the database is completely translated into English. A save file has been included for players who wish to see it immediately without unlocking all data first.[/li]
A few graphics have been unaltered but no Japanese knowledge is necessary to navigate the game as a whole.
