Game Description

Phantasy Star is a role playing game for the Sega Master System, and the first in the Phantasy Star series. It's also one of the earliest JRPGs, and considered a pioneer in the genre. It was critically acclaimed for its scope, lush graphics, animations, 3D dungeons (a first for JRPGs), and for its blend of science fiction and fantasy elements.

Translation Description

This is a project to re-localize all classic Phantasy Star games to Brazilian Portuguese.
The intention is to bring to Portuguese speakers these games with a better translation, accentuation, consistency and standardization
for names used in all four games, bugs corrections and some improvements.
- dialogue windows now afford 4 lines of text instead just 2 lines. This give more text to the game.
- FM sound now is supported. It gives an alternate soundtrack arrange for the game. It can be enabled/disabled on emulator.
There is a total of 4 patches that groups the sub-versions below:

[li]A1 - Original version: uses the names from Japanese release (just for characters and villains). It has only one exception: "Dark Phallus" is nasty, so "Dark Force" was chosen instead.[/li]
[li]A2 - Classic version: uses the names from American release.[/li]
[li]B1 - Traditional version: uses the same characters sprites from Japanese and American releases. However, the color of Alis/Alisa's hair color now has been corrected to brown.[/li]
[li]B2 - New version: uses new characters sprites for Alis/Alisa and Odin/Tylon.[/li]

So, here are the 4 IPS patches: orig+trad, orig+new, class+trad and class+new.
The player must pick JUST ONE of them to apply on the Phantasy Star (japan).sms rom. (MD5=dfebc48dfe8165202b7f002d8bac477b)
Floating IPS is recommended for this task.
