Game Description

State of War 2: Arcon (SoW2) is a real-time strategy (RTS) game released in 2007 by Cypron Studios, a Czech game company known for the predecessors of this game (State of War and State of War: Warmonger, both are available on Steam). However, SoW2 is not nearly as impactful, which did not even receive an English release (despite a few screenshots on the official website showing some English texts), while only Czech, German, and Chinese versions exist (the Chinese version is named as 蓝色警戒3, or Blue Alert 3). Notably, almost every aspect of the gameplay deviates from its predecessors and resembles a more “traditional” paradigm of RTS games. For example, buildings are destroyable and unit production is no longer automated, etc.

Translation Description

This game was translated based on the German version. Nevertheless, ips patches have been made available for both German and Czech versions of the game (no Chinese version because it has a nasty Securom protection). Most of the texts were directly Google-translated so expect some errors, but it should not affect much of your playing experience.

To use the patch, simply apply the .ips patch (e.g., using Lunar IPS) to the “text.text” file within the Data folder of the installation path.

Update: A few bugs have been fixed since the first release.
