Translation Description |
Stardom Warriors is the Woolsey Fan Company's second localization. It attempts to recreate what an official release would have looked like back in the day of the Nintendo Entertainment System.
Nintendo of America would have likely run into copyright issues with the celebrities featured within the game, so they were omitted. Several changes were made to accommodate this. The celebrity inserts would have held no meaning for a majority of the American audience anyway.
The WFC also mostly adhered to NoA's content policies, so localization changes were made. This ensures that, had Stardom Warriors actually been released officially, it would've gotten an "E for Everyone" rating.
Polinym of the WFC also followed the same translation style of his previous localization, making the dialogue flow naturally rather than sounding like dry subtitles.
Also included is the "Manager's Handbook", an unofficial imitation of a "Nintendo Player's Guide", created exclusively for the USA version to help players get through the game.
Because the original game was intended as a parody of Dragon Quest, the WFC recreated this feeling in the USA version by incorporating elements inspired by Dragon Warrior for the NES (This is especially prominent in the opening).
