Game Description |
Tales of Phantasia is a role playing game for the Super Nintendo that combines random encounters with real time battles using something called the Linear Motion Battle System (LMBS). Battles are fought on a 2D screen that scrolls both left and right, similar to that of most fighting games such as Street Fighter. This game features an open world that allows the player to complete various main and side quests in the order of their choosing for the most part.
The playable characters of this story are Cless Alvein, Chester Barklight, Mint Adenade, Klarth F. Lester and Arche Klein, who must confront the mysterious and dreadful sorcerer named Dhaos, who's motives are kept secret until the very end of the game to the player. This game also has a time travel theme to it, similar a bit to that of Chrono Trigger. The characters are great, the story is excellent, the graphics are superb, the controls and gameplay are both good and the music is fantastic, making for an overall very enjoyable and memorable game.

Translation Description |
This is Disnesquick's patch for the infinitely popular Tales of Phantasia. For those of you who have been living in a bubble, this game is a fantastic RPG, one that would seem its up there with the greats, like Final Fantasy. It employs a new battle system, where the battles are a side view like a platformer. It adds some more strategy, but also some frustration when dealing with flying enemies. Overall, its not too bad. This game definitely warrants attention from anyone who hasn't played. Disnesquick's patch here is an alpha patch, and you must also have an INTERLEAVED rom. I'm sure that this release is getting a bit blown over, since Dejap just released their final patch for the game. Of course, for all of you die hard fans, should definitely take a look at this one too. |
