Dragon Ball Z II: Gekishin Freeza!! is a role playing game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The game is based on a Japanese cartoon, Dragon Ball Z.
Translation Description
DBZ II for the Famicom is a card-based RPG and the sequel to DBZ: Assault of the Saiyans.

The game improves upon its predecessor by starting you off with 5 Z-Fighters and it's a lot less of a grindfest.

Besides the powerup Guru gives to the warriors on Namek, you can train on Goku's gravity ship during the final showdown with Freeza. Additionally, you can input the 7 passwords from the first game into the tournament mode to start the main game with stronger fighters and some free items.

This specific translation originally used Saiya Translation's work as a baseline.

In v1.00, the majority of their text was untouched and the untranslated text took priority to be translated.

As of v1.01, it still uses their font, title graphic (EVIL FREEZA), and probably 5-10% of the text.

As of v1.02, there should be full independence from their work, including graphics, font, errors from their work (like Kaioken Goku or Piccolo getting hit in battle).

Now the translation is much more faithful to what the Japanese game text contains and has graphical improvements and a title screen of my own design.

Having said this, the translation still does not take advantage of any ASM hacks and it merely uses the space available, some pointer table switching around, and ligatures to fit most of the text.
