Game Description |
Okay, release this game only in Japan, and France. Thanks, Nintendo! Napoleon is a strategy game that is very loosely based on historical fact, that basically involves you, playing Napoleon, running around really fast on your horse, giving your troops orders. Go up next to a unit, and you can tell it to move, or join a formation, or attack a unit, or capture a base, or whatever. So basically, Napoleon is a cursor with hit points. Which is pretty cool, really.

Translation Description |
"France, 1800s.
The people rise up.
It's a revolution!
Who will return order to France?
God?
The Devil?
One man who will go down in history!"
That's the beginning of Napoleon, an overlooked GBA game that's actually a novel game. It's a real-time strategy game on GBA, for one. If that isn't interesting enough, the game is based on the period just after the French Revolution, though with added magic and demons. The most interesting part about the game is how the villain is Tussaud, as in the wax museum "Madame Tussauds". While this game isn't perfect, or even anything above average, it's still a novel game that deserves a playthrough.
While a translation may already exist, the English in that version is barely passable. This version retranslates the entire game and translates more than the other translation did (i.e. the minigame text, lots of battle text, etc.) While graphics weren't able to be edited, the game is still fully playable.
As stated in the readme, patch the up to date .ups file onto an L'Aigle du Guerre ROM. |
