Game Description

46 Okunen Monogatari: THE Shinkaron is a top-down, turn-based RPG about evolving from the most pathetic fish to a dinosaur and beyond. Its sequel, E.V.O.: Search for Eden, is perhaps better known to Western audiences, and the two share a similar concept, structure, and sense of humor. But this earlier game has a deeper and more involved plot, blending elements from the Earth's history with mythology, and speculating a bit into the future.

The battles are quite simple - even slightly less complex than Dragon Quest. But by defeating creatures around you, you gain points you can distribute to four stats. By reaching a certain threshold, you can evolve into an entirely different creature that lived in that era. And this is pretty cool - the evolution tree grows quite expansive as you progress through the Earth's history.

Recommended for fans of Search for Eden, fans of old-school RPGs, and dinosaur fans in general.

Translation Description

This patch translates 100% of the game into English, including the images and encyclopedia.

Since v1.1.1, the patch is applied with Pachy98, a custom executable patcher, which should work on any build of the game.

This translation has been tested on anex86, Neko Project II (np2.exe, np21.exe), and real hardware.

If you’re using anex86 or Neko Project II, make sure to download a proper system font as well.

The HDI version of this game will not work with Anex86 or T98-Next. It will also crash during play between chapters 4 and 5 with any version of Neko Project 2 ending with x11.exe. We highly recommend playing with the HDM or FDI formats for the above emulators. If you are playing on real hardware or using NP2fmgen, then the HDI format will work with no problems.
