Surging Aura is a role playing game for the Sega Genesis.

Many years have passed since an evil mage named Rufeed set the world ablaze by trying to appropriate the power of the sacred writings. In the face of his tyranny, a crusade was organized, and after a titanic struggle which entered history as the Battle of Ashura, four legendary heroes succeeded in putting an end to his reign of terror. To mark this victory, the kingdom of Pasfalda was created, and the time spent in joy and peace ...

Today is a great day for the kingdom Pasfalda organizes a ceremony to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Just awakened by his childhood friend Seira, the young prince Muu must dress quickly and join his parents in the throne room for the opening ceremony. But while everything well seems to be going on, the kingdom is suddenly taken by assault by demons. Overwhelmed by the number of enemies, the royal members take refuge in the sealed crypt sheltering the sacred writing of the darkness, while King Balam and Queen Silk decided to stay outside in order to protect the entrance.

While the situation seems serious enough, Mill, the royal archmage suddenly begins to show signs of discomfort and, as enthusiastically as possible, gets ahold of the sacred writing before turning into ... Rufeed! It turns out that he had not died 20 years ago, but that he had taken possession of Mill the royal archmage while waiting for his time. Having thus recovered the sacred writing of darkness Rufeed kills everyone, and when all seems lost, a magical rabbit appears to give a second chance to Muu ...
