Well, this is a "visual novel" published by key games in Japan in 1999, and republished several times on various platforms (officially and unofficially), including the Dreamcast (which contains voice acting and such).
As the genre implies, this is a novel. Think of a dating sim, but without any actual gameplay. The most interactivity you can have in the game is, say choosing whether you should apologize to a girl or not. Yep, but no one plays this for the amazing gameplay, it's played for the story. And the cute chickys. And Kanon has both in spades. Yeeeah.

This is a complete translation of Kanon by Non-Directional Translations. Please note that the patch only works with the RealLive version. If you have the the AVG32 version, then you're in bad luck.
It has been a long and rough trip, but we are finally at the end of our journey. We present to you what we hope to be the final Kanon patch from Haeleth & NDT here. Feel free to report anything, however I cannot promise I’ll fix it. Kanon has taken up a good part of three years of my life. I don’t regret anything. Thank you to all the fans that supported us. This contains both the adult and all-ages versions, as well as installation files and procedures for the Windows and Unix versions. Crafty OSX users might be able to run the game as well, so be sure to check his site for more information as well as other issues that might pop up. |
