Last year I finished Castlevania Glory: I tried again this year with a darker theme.
There's more info at my blog, ThingsToRead, and the game is available for download here: Castlevania Shadows |

This is brilliant.
Although I can understand the way you describe the ability to turn quickly as "modern," the slow, tank-like character rotation was something that bothered me when RE1 first came out. Ms. Pac-Man didn't even have legs, but she turned about a hundred times faster than Jill. Although there were other problems with RE1 (extremely limited inventory, endless mucking around with herbs, frustrating camera angles, non-transmissible zombie virus, etc) you've zeroed in on the most crucial fixes the game needed by implementing quick turn and auto aim. The turn does look slightly awkward when you turn from a aiming stance and your character's feet don't move, but this is such a minor quibble about a mod that takes a classic game that once had zero replayability and makes it worth looking at again. Congratulations on your success, and thank you for your hard work on this project! |
