Here's a hack of the original Super Mario Bros. for the NES that changes the text for the mushroom guru and princess, relocates some of the pipes and vines and also replaces all the tiles on each of the ground stages with snow covered tree tops. Since not just the tiles have been replaced but most of the original colors have either been completely changed or altered as well, this shouldn't be considered merely a fresh coat of paint despite appearing as such. None of the levels have been radically changed remaining fairly close and true to how they were in the original game and no new stages have been added either due to the consideration that the vast majority of people may prefer to play the original release of SMB. However, a future version of this game with all new stages and changed maneuvering logic isn't out of the realm of possibility and for this same reason positive community feed back on this rom hack is strongly encouraged and may even be rewarded!
IMPORTANT!
- Upon creating this game it was discovered that exiting from coin rooms
was breaking the stages with the new snowy ground layouts and thus, all pipes
leading to coin rooms within the original game are no longer assigned to them.
However there are still a few pipes as well as vines leading to some other
places.
- Many power-ups and other things have now been relocated |
