The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D - No Music
Hack of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
Description
This mod mutes the background music in The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D. There are 2 region options available, one is for USA v1.0 and the other is for EUR v1.0. The reason why both regions are included is to give players the option to have either a USA or an EUR version of the game as vanilla (with the music muted), while the other version can be used for the randomizer. Otherwise, players would have to remove the randomizer files from the Luma folder in their modded 3DS consoles, or from their Citra mods folder, in order to play the vanilla game. This way, both a vanilla and a randomized game can exist on one 3DS console or one iteration of Citra at the same time.

As was the case with the Majora's Mask 3D - No Music mod, jingles such as the ones that play when you get an item, get a heart piece or container, and the playback for ocarina songs have not been muted, in order to maintain the character of the game. The jingle that plays when you beat a horse race has been kept as an indicator that the race has been completed. Zelda's Lullaby, which is played by Zelda on the Ocarina of Time during the ending of the game, will play like normal. Wind background noises in dungeons such as the Fire Temple, Ice Cavern, Shadow Temple/Bottom of the Well, and Inside Ganon's Castle have been kept, as have the gurgling belly sounds of Jabu Jabu's Belly. Dodongo's Cavern, Death Mountain Crater, and the Gerudo Training Ground "music" have also been kept, as they share the same "music" track, which is just background noise anyway. Ganon's Tower music has also been kept, because muting this would result in Ganon playing a silent pipe organ (piano) during the entire time that he held Zelda captive, which would look ridiculous.

Within the 2 separate region folders, there are also 2 separate xdelta patch files. One is labeled 3DS, meaning that it is meant to be used to patch a .cia file of the game, which can then be installed on a modded 3DS console. The second xdelta patch file is meant to be used to patch a .3ds file of the game, so that it can be used in an emulator like Citra. Please don't be confused by this explanation. .3ds files are for emulators like Citra, and .cia files are for original 3DS hardware. Also, be sure to backup your Ocarina of Time 3D save file on your 3DS, if you have one, for whichever region you will be installing, because installing a new .cia file of OOT3D will wipe over the old one and its save data.

This mod is 100% compatible with the Ocarina of Time Randomizer. The Randomizer has its own built-in feature to turn off the background music, however, it doesn't keep any wind background noises nor the stomach gurgling sounds of the above mentioned dungeons. If you choose to use this mod together with the randomizer, please note that selecting off for the "Play Music" option in the select menu will also turn off these noises. Likewise, the Randomizer alone doesn't have the ability to mute the BGM of the title screen nor the file select screen, but this mod mutes both of those tracks.
