Description |
ATTENTION: Many people are having an issue that showing ERR. 24 at the FDS splash screen. This is usually because it requires your original ROM to have a 16-byte header. Try the "Patch Online NOW!" link on this page, and if your CRC32 is f04cd4cd and in red color, and a checkbox saying "Add temporary header (16b)" is shown, then you'll need to check that checkbox and patch, and it should be fine.
This hack allows you to play Super Mario Bros. Lost Levels (FDS version) from 1-1 to D-4 in a row. This hack is for people who dislikes SNES version of Super Mario All-Stars.
Changes:
[li]After you beat 9-4, you will enter A-1 instead of 9-1. You still need to beat every world from 1 to 8, in order to enter world 9.
[li]Entering world 9 no longer reduce your life to 1 (unless you only have 1 life).
[li]No special text will show when entering 9-1.
[li]You can continue after game over in world 9, just like in other worlds.
[li]You can press A+Start at the title screen to access A-1 at any time, no longer need to beat the game for 8 times.
All levels, graphics, music and glitches remains the same as the original game, but it is incompatible with level editors.
There are 2 IPS files and they act differently when you beat 8-4 while didn't beat every world:
[li]Super Mario Bros Lost Levels W8 End.ips will bring you to the title screen after 8-4, if not every world is beaten.
[li]Super Mario Bros Lost Levels W8 Go Ahead.ips will bring you to level A-1 after 8-4, if not every world is beaten.

Note: This hack is made by modifying disassembly code and re-assemble it into a ROM. Thanks threecreepio for the comprehensive disassembly code. As a result there may be some untested bugs, so feel free to report.
