(As of May 14 '24, this mod now requires an unheadered ROM. There have been no functional changes between this and the previous release.)
Project III: Final Fantasy VI is an extensive script touch-up and enhancement of Final Fantasy III for Super Nintendo.
FFIII released in 1994 with a script that gained a cult following, but its context errors and mistranslations are readily evident. Through the years Final Fantasy VI has seen a localization that many consider definitive, but some would rather experience the game as a classic for SNES. The SNES release also has many exclusive, incredibly useful patches, making it a much more attractive modding prospect. With all of these resources, FFIII has gained a localization fitting of the era: the same letter restraints, the same terms and names, but with the time and care it deserved back in the day, and its worst design flaws mended.
In Project III, survive the birth of Magitek and the end of the world once more--in a reinvigorated experience.
