Description |
Tengen's NES port of Klax has a unique soundtrack driven by heavy sample use. However, it was discovered in 2020 that the samples suffered from a common encoding issue known as bit-reversal. This hack corrects these samples to what the composers likely intended. Various sample parameters have also been tweaked to improve the audio experience.
Details:
- All samples have been fixed
- Unnecessary IRQ & loop flags have been cleared
- Sample offset parameter has been tweaked for the snare samples to minimise delay
- Sample length parameter has been tweaked (E.g. no more buzz at the end of the kick sample)
- Initial delta value for samples has been tweaked (E.g. less distortion/clicks on voice samples) |
