Description |
This is a set of four hacks to celebrate Donkey Kong's 40th and Zelda's 35th anniversary.
Each IPS patch features a different version of the game with unique colour palettes, enemies, items, and other graphics.
V is based on The Legend of Zelda for NES, while VI-VIII are all Zelda 2 themed.
~ ZELDA KONG V ~
-Your Octorok pal's going to be Aquamentus' next snack! Play as an ancient Armos guardian and get your friend back to safety.
-Crush all who oppose you with that Bracelet you've been sitting on for the past 100 years.
-Collect Rings and Whistles for bonus points.
-Face the dread dragon's army of Dodongos, Manhandla Maws, Zora, Leevers, Lynels, and Darknuts.
~ ZELDA KONG VI ~
-Is Link smaller or are all his enemies huge? The Thunderbird has Zelda in its claws, and you must save her, because she can't save herself for some reason.
-Demolish everything in your path with the Hammer.
-Pick up Dungeon Keys and Treasure Bags for bonus points.
-Encounter Strong Enemies, Bubbles, Octoroks, Myu, Megmats, and Japanese River Devils.
~ ZELDA KONG VII ~
-Link failed to defeat his Dark counterpart, so now it's up to the Triforce Keeper to destroy him!
-The Magical Key, made from enchanted metal, is heavy enough to make a mess of anyone's face.
-Collect Boots and Magic Jars for bonus points.
-Make a stand against Bits, Moa, Bago-Bago, evil statues Mau and Ra, and Deelers.
~ ZELDA KONG VIII ~
-Your mum's been caught by a Giant Bubble monster! As her child, you should probably rescue her!
-You're a Nintendo kid, so of course you have a 'Handy' Power Glove! Karate-chop stuff to death!
-Grab Rafts and Flutes for bonus points.
-Escape the clutches of Aches, Leevers, Girubokku, Boons, Tektites, and Aneru.
Other features include new title screens for each game. 'Game A/B' have been changed to 'Normal' and 'Expert'. All additional graphics and animations (e.g. many of Ganon's frames) were created by Zero Meaning.
The 'Original Edition' of DK includes previously missing content such as the pie/cement level along with the cutscene of the big ape climbing the ladders. As with the rest of the game, all of this has been altered.
This hack also exists (without the extra content) for the original NES port.
If you like this, please look for a possible sequel sometime in the near future.
