Welcome to the "fixed outline" patch of Super Mario Bros. 3
This patch basically just corrected the bad looking interior outlines for:
Boo Buddies
"Stretched Boo's"
The "quicksand" tile in Desert Land
And the black within the flames on the airships
The enemy sprites do still have an outline, so can be added to non-fortress levels.
This is all in the "Fixed outline" patch
For those who liked the "Toad Restored" patch by Duke2go, a second version is included that added those changes to the vanilla fixed outline ips.
That patch changed Toad in the Toad houses to resemble his SMB2 sprite and changed the question orb obtained from fortresses into the Key from SMB2.
