Game Description
Legend of the Swordsman & Fairy is a classic RPG with an emphasis on an extensive love story. This version is a remake of the 1995 released DOS original. The graphics and the whole soundtrack have been extensively overhauled. It's China's most famous RPG--famous enough to have been translated and released in Japan as Senken Kikyouden on the Sega Saturn. There even is a live-action TV-Series airing in China about this story!

The story is about a young man called Li Xiaoyao who lives peacefully in his aunt's inn. One day his aunt falls ill and he travels to an island to get a medicine from some fairies. On the island he finds a beautiful girl bathing in a spring. He steals her clothes and forces her to give him the medicine. She gives it to him freely when she learns that it is for his ill aunt. They quickly become friends. When Li tries to leave the island, the girl's grandmother stops him and and gives him two choices: He can either leave without his eyes, ears, hands or tongue, or stay forever and marry the girl...

In terms of gameplay this one is absolutely standard RPG trade. You walk around towns, ask people for information and fight random encounters in a turn based battle system. Be sure to investigate all places in the towns as you'll find a lot of items.
