Game Description |
Undertale is an RPG mainly produced Robert "Toby" Fox. The game mixes danmaku into the battle system as well as a dialogue system somewhat similar to the one used in the Shin Megami Tensei series.
The main gimmick of the game is the fact the player can go through the game without killing a single enemy. A game played without killing is coined as the "pacifist" run and a run where you kill all the monsters in the game is called a "genocide" run.
There isn't much to the story; long ago there was a war between humans and monsters. Humans won and the monsters were banished to the underground. Many years later, a human falls into a hole that leads to the monster world. The player assumes control of the human and the goal is to get back to the surface.
For a person looking for an RPG with solid gameplay and an intricate story, look somewhere else. The game's main charm is the characters, not the story. The characters' dialogue was enough to make the Undetale a gaming phenomenon. The dialogue is affected by the player's actions and you won't run into all the game's secrets on your first run.
